I've heard your tune combined with 4.88 makes for a sick setup for 33s or 35s

I concur - 1.05 91 with 33 skinnies and 4.88 with AT has been great so far. Still on break in but truck seems much happier. It will still do some weird shifting where it will sometimes downshift to 3rd instead of 4th but might be related to a need to reset learning in the trans. Not sure.

If you can wait until the release of 1.05.1 (likely Sunday or maybe before) then I would. Tune once instead of twice. Up to you.

Man, on a 2016, I'd update before so you have a more enjoyable trip. Much better highway manners to me. If you had a newer truck, maybe I'd wait. Just me though, I do understand you don't want to introduce something new right before a trip though.

I was under the impression the upcoming update is a fix for a small segment of trucks that exhibited torque converter shudder issues. I could be wrong, but if this is the case, it's likely you won't even need the update. Whatever the case, I would go ahead and flash the truck when you get the kit, for you own sanity.

Just flash it when you get your kit and take your laptop with you in case you have and issues with the tune you can always flash back to stock. The current 1.05 is light years ahead of the stock tune IMHO.

The tune is way better than. Still, a few odd issues because the tune wasn't specifically designed for the gearing. But I wouldn't go back to stock, that's for damn sure

I would flash the current tune and enjoy. You can always update when you get back. Like others said, bring your laptop for the off chance you have any issues.
