Dude... S mode 'default' puts it in 4th not 5th so shifting "on the fly" is not perfect. A simple OD button on the shifter preventing 6th gear engagement is way easier. Secondly, if I would have wanted to manually shift this truck I would have bought a manual transmission.

FYI. I do currently use S mode all the time. It's pathetic that one cannot simply put it in DRIVE and forget about it!

4th gear is 1:1. Both 5th and 6th are overdrives. Defaulting to 4th is locking off overdrive.

I can echo everything you said about the 3rd gen Tacoma, and then some. Here's my suggestion. Keep an open mind with very low expectations, and go test drive a 2019 Ranger. See if you like how the engine/transmission/tuning performs. If you're open minded and not a total Toyota fanboy, you'll probably be doing the same as myself and many others, trading your turd gen Tacoma for a Ranger.

    05/12/19 File release 7PM EST

04B23 files > Released (Base, Gearlock, Performance)
Octane options ONLY > 87, 91 (due to fuel quality in region)

    Flash Manager update 1.2.2 > Change-log / updates
    P5Flash Utility (Flashing Program)
    Updated features:
Reset LV - Resets Base Learning values in the ECM (Fuel Trims, ignition trims etc)
Reset AT - Resets Transmission Table, Shift schedule, Torque converter schedule Learning values.

    1.05.1 Files (Automatic only)

04B02 ECU - Updated Torque Converter tables > All gears
    04B04 ECU - Updated Torque Converter tables > gears 2 > 5
    04A60 ECU - Updated Torque Converter tables > Gears 1> 3
    04A61 ECU - Updated Torque Converter tables > Gears 3, 4

    Should I update to 1.05.1 ?

This update is only necessary if your truck experiencing characteristic "stumbling" or stuttering, "Bumpy road feeling" during low RPM (1200-2000 RPM) at low throttle and low to moderate speed (15mph - 50 mph)

Are there other updates in 1.05.1 That require me updating the ECU?

Unless your truck experiences this very specific issue, updating is not required.

Are there any special things that are necessary to do when performing this update?

Yes. After flashing the update, you will need to reset the AT and LV values in the ECU.
    Perform it this way:
    1. Flash the truck. After completion, start the truck.
    Run flash Manager P5Flash Utility
Select "Reset LV" after completion select "Reset AT"
    After completion you are finished.

IF YOUR TRUCK STILL EXPERIENCES ANY SHUTTER, "BUMPY ROAD FEELING" ETC IN LOW RPM (1200-2000 RPM, 30MPH TO 50MPH)
PLEASE SEND CONTACT US BY ZENDESK. WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP YOU OTHERWISE. <<<<<<<<<<<<

Mat, just to be clear, your instruction for resetting LV and AT after flashing 1.05.1 is to do it with the engine running?

    Any idling time before driving?

Thanks Mat for the continued development, Do have an ETA for other ECUs. Mine is 04B31 and suffers from the stumble.

    Thanks!

04B30 and 04B31 will be at a later time (not long), as there is a few extra updates going into those files.

idle time is not required, although if it's from cold start it's always good to let it idle a minute or two.

engine running or not both can clear values.

No, the features will be added to dongle software asap. 1.05.1 files are available for dongle users though.

Does the update 1.5.1 for 04B60 also include the enhanced-performance 87 tunes as written on the homepage or is this only for this certain version available?

"This is a tuned gain with 87 octane that will provide real world results where the truck is driven and needed the most.
Include gear locking, and you've got more than 50 ft lbs available at 4100 RPM, tested. This is an absolute requirement for anyone who would like to tow WITHOUT having the engine screaming at 5000 RPM.
(for people who are already on 04B04, testing results ~20-22 ft lbs)"

Mat, I’ve been waiting for this revision becuase it was mentioned before to also fix the misfire count that some of our trucks are experiencing. I didn’t see it mentioned in this post.

I don’t have the shutter, but I do have the misfires. Shall I flash this update with hopes for a misfire resolution?

Good.. I'm pretty excited to actually fix this shudder stumble in my truck. Hopefully your "not long" is equivalent to my "not long" :fingerscrossed:
