Did anybody test for TC shudder after flashing 1.5.1?
I was able to put the truck into it on the way to work. Same conditions ~ 1200 RPMs, 6th gear and TC locked, about 45mph. Same part of the road (slight/moderate incline, same traffic conditions..
    Perplexed...
    ..and yes, I'm 100% sure I flashed 1.5.1

So, I really appreciate what you’ve said here and in no way am I disrespecting your comments.

But, as a counterpoint to fencesitters...
My morning commute is 12 miles through the city at 35-45 mph hoping to hit every light green. I know, BORING! So, what I appreciate most about the base tunes is the added torque to “lug” at 1100 rpm, instead of flopping between 4th, 5th, and 6th as I flow with whatever traffic is present that morning. (I have to drive our “medical mile”, which is 40 clinics and a hospital at either end and who knows how many retirees crawling to their early am colonoscopy, hoping they’ll be too late and scheduling will make them wait another week.) My 06 was a MT, and I’m not a hypermiler, but I get it when you can’t just run away from the idiots... and when the opportunity avails, I am hauling shell... “like a turtle on a mission!”

So, OVTUNE is really is scratching both our itches.

Just saying, for those still not sure.

Two tanks of gas into 1.05 91 octane "base" and it actually improved my mileage by about 1MPG. The low RPM feel much better. Overall smoother shifting with the sensation of a little more responsiveness. I tried the performance for a little while and it was just too touchy making my kids complain when their heads bounced off the seats! ;-) Would love a 1.05 "Perky" mod somewhere between. There are still shifting delays in higher RPM and when passing traffic on highway and hope to see it continue to develop.

So I brought the vehicle in to dealer today for the Toyota PCS limited service campaign (aka recall lol) not knowing an ECU update was part of it. According to the invoice an "ECU update" was performed so I am not sure if that means they flashed my ECU or is that not related to my current 1.5.1 tune? Just wondering if I need to flash 1.5.1 again if they overwrote it, thanks!

More specifically... there's several 'ECUs' in our trucks. The one the dealer updated was for the collision warning stuff. Not Engine or Transmission.

Had mine in today for same reason. L41. As soon as they were done I verified that I still had 1.05.1 87GL working. No worries, they didn’t change my tune. Still happy.

Version 1.05.1 sounds great - just waiting for version 04B03 to drop!

Anyone notice any drawbacks/negatives from 1.05.1 compared to 1.05 yet? Just curious.

I installed the update yesterday, 04B02. I also changed from 91 performance to 91 base. My stumble symptom is gone and throttle tip in is much smoother. Gas mileage is also better. Thanks again Matt. Hope this helps someone.

And it gets better. Decided to give 91 performance a try. Tip-in much more manageable than 1.05 and look at these ludicrous mpgs on E-rated 33’s with stock gearing. This is my daily 8.5 mile drive and before today my best was 18.5 indicated. Doing the math = 23.4 mpg.

I'm on 105.1 Performance 93 from 105 Base 93 and 105 Performance 87 before that. Running nice so far at a little over 100 miles. Only improvement I can think of will be the new shift mapping and tip-in that Mat is working on.

4A7C24A1-A4AE-4405-A065-A76A6C0536C2.jpg This was my morning commute today. Granted I was going in this truck golden speed of 55-65mph. Flashed last night to 91 performance 1.05.1 and reset AT and LV. Shifting feels great and I came from 91 base. Definitely a different driving experience.:burnrubber:

anyone else think the price of the tune isn't worth the 25HP gain?
I mean it was at least 50HP gain, i'd be interested.
    thoughts?

If all you want is HP then ya I get it but it’s more about drive ability which the the tune was developed for.
The extra ponies is just a plus but this has been mentioned a thousand times.

Driveability is worth more than the HP increase. The HP increase is largely at the top of the rpm range. Not that useful for every day driving. It is worth the money for a better driving experience!
