I’ve looked into doing it myself, I’m just not sure how comfortable I feel about using a hacked version of Techstream to do it. My luck something would go wrong.

Tons of us have done it no issue. If you have the tuning kit, you can recover the ecu in the unlikely event TS blows up

K, pulled 160 miles tonight on a route I've done a ton with the stock tune. 35" tires, 4.88 gears, 22' travel trailer. 1.0.5.1 91 performance.

Loved it. ECT mode, S5. Was in 3rd gear way less than usual and in 5th way more than usual. It was a cool night, but trans temps stayed low. Cruised at 195, up into the 220s on 3rd gear pulls up grades. Way less 220-230 than I'm used to just because the tourqe converter isn't getting overworked with all the useless shifting. Super happy.

Fuel economy was the same. Averaged 8.5-9mpg with a crosswind. I did spend more time over 70mph than usual tho. So much powa! :D

Should work just fine. A few of us have grabbed a similar Acer model when they were on sale and have not had any issues.

Im on 1.05GearLock tune and im having really bad torque converter engagement/Disengagement. I have had a violent engagement on the freeway where it feels like it goes from slipping into full lock and the truck jerks really hard. This morning apon deceleration i had a strong thump from the trq cnveter when turning a corner and slowing down. Would 1.05.1 fix this? I read the FAQ and im having different issues than described.

Try 1.05.1 and see if it improves.

Also this stuff needs to be sent to zendesk. I'm not going to try to resolve issues or figure out things on the forum anymore, it only caused more widespread confusion and less resolutions.

Also when it comes to gearlock for best shifting experience you have to let off the gas pedal.

Finally updated to 04A61. The process was really simple like everyone says.

04A31 on 1.05.1 base is a dream. No more bogging while down in the low RPMs driving around town in 45-55mph speed range :)

With this type of improvement, and the seasons changing, I might have to give the performance tune a shot again and see how that goes.
