It is excellent that you got it sorted.

I think GL is ECT turned on plus the stick in S mode?

FOB is the performance tune for MTs only. I don't know how similar it is to the AT Performance tune, but for MTs, it turns down the simulated Atkinson cycle and gives us a big hit of low end torque. Full Otto 1.05B / FOB.

Yeah it’s something like that. I’ll try that combo tomorrow.

I was going to say this new method is way easier than the first time I did this. If ov tune would gray out combos that aren’t available that would have saved me a couple hours. Or instead of error’ing the download provide a message saying that isn’t a valid combo. I only figured it out because I’d download the base option, add a choice download again, then inch options until I got what I needed.

Makes sense on the FOB. Thanks for the reply. :)

I definitely like the newest FM version. No more messing with the battery.

ECT will activate gear lock. Just remember, when you have a gear lock tune loaded, once you activate ECT, the truck will not downshift unless you do so yourself, or very high engine load. Basically you lose your normal ECT function and don’t want to drive around in “D” with ECT activated.

So to use gear lock: select ECT. Shift to “S” mode. Enjoy

Why does every time I try to flash now flash utility is greyed out and nothing works? 3 times in a row now. Last time I was able to uninstall FM then reinstall and worked fine. Now that is not even working. Getting really frustrating and annoying.

Are you using the same computer you registered on?

Also we really do not recommend continually installing and uninstalling.

Yes. I bought a new computer dedicated just for this. The first time this happened it was suggested to uninstall/reinstall. It worked the first 2 times.

Sound clips exist yet for the dump tubes?

    @OVTune

I have asked this a couple of times and no response yet, do we get any sort of gains using 87 on dump tubes or is it 91/93 only?

Our truck, as tested, had stock exhaust + dump tubes. it's the only thing we changed out

Not yet sorry, but it's not really that different sounding than before.

Minimal gains. Majority of the gains come from tuning + octane with them. 87 octane still limits total ignition.

Seriously considering getting the dump tubes on the 4th of July sale... I looked at the dyno charts but is there a comparison between 91 tune with and without the dump tubes?

I thought the new tune will gain plenty of power with 87 due to Acoustic valve control ?! or is this only advertisement at OVTUNED.com?

You can get some power from 87 but you’re not going to get nearly as much as you can with 91 or 93.

More torque down low yes, but that's with / without the dump tubes. This power is gained by changing the intake manifold acoustic opening point.

    Hopefully this is clear:

Stock truck + 87 + acoustic tuned = more torque, same top end hp.
stock truck + 91 + acoustic tuned = more torque, more top end power
stock truck + 93 + acoustic tuned = best torque, best top end power

dump tube + 87 + acoustic tuned = more torque, mild top end gains (not enough to advertise as "gains".. a few horsepower)
dump tube + 91 + acoustic tuned = more torque, better top end power than without dump tube
dump tube + 93 + acoustic tuned = highest torque, highest horsepower gained so far on this truck. N/A

That makes complete sense to me.

So looking forward to the ACIS fun because just going from 87 Base to 87 FOB is a decent kick in the ass at the bottom, both part and full throttle.
