Honestly I think if you try to run E85 you’d have to redo the fuel lines, they might not be able to handle enthanol

Why would anyone want to run E85? It actually cost more to run E85 because of the drop in mpg.

With proper tuning you can get more horsepower out of E85 than normal gasoline

I did not know this. I've never seen E85 in Canada and from my understanding it takes more energy to convert corn into fuel than the energy available. Kind of makes it pointless but the farmers will be happy.

It’s not a common fuel in the US but there are people who build race cars to run on E85

You can get more power, but as a generalization you burn more e85 by volume compared to say, 91 octane, so yeah, your mileage suffers. This is why mixtures are commonly run in the various tuner/car enthusiast communities, such as 25% or 33% e85. I personally ran 33% on my speed3 when I had it.

As far as throwing CAT related codes - there's at least one that relates to CAT efficiency. The ECM will "periodically" compare values it's seeing from the two sensors (one before and one after the primary CATs per bank), perform some kind of calculation related to oxygen content, and make a determination as to the efficiency of said primary CATs. The wording specifically states that the secondary CATs are assumed to be bad if the primaries return a fucked status (and there's no O2 sensor aft of the secondary CATs). It's all in the service manual, grab that 11,000 page PDF and have a read!

Has anyone received shipping information for the dump tubes? Just wondering if I made this cut or waiting for another 2-3 weeks for the next shipments? Thank you

So based on this...how does loosing to secondary cats in the y pipe effect what the o2 sensors before it see? Will just doing the URD catless y pipe trigger these codes alone? There isn’t any sensors after the second cats. I know the cat less dump tubes will cause codes, but will the catted dump tubes as well since they are not the “factory” cats?

Actually iirc, @OVTune stated that he's got 1k miles on the catless dump tubes without a CEL.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong and thinking of someone quoting something different

AFAIK from reading the service manual explanation, removal of the secondary CATs shouldn't throw that particular code since, as you say, there is no O2 sensor downstream of the secondary CATs.
You should engage someone who has actually done the CATless Y-pipe mod though, as I have not. There could of course be other problems.

It's hard to say what the outcome of installing aftermarket high flow CATs would be as far as setting codes, the assumption being that the ECM's calculations WRT CAT "efficiency" are calibrated to the stock setup.

I guess someone is going to have to run a set for a good long time and see!

I will try and dig up the specific reference to this in the SM and post it here tonight if someone hasn't done it by then...
