Other than the stutter at 1100-1200rpm on a very very light positive throttle I love the tune so far, smooth, gets up overpasses within going to 4th, holds on to gears almost exactly where I'd want them to.

We'd all like more low down grunt but can understand if that isn't possible.

Really really wish I was closer to OVT, so I could just give him my Tacoma for a week or 2 to figure everything out. Its kind of hard to believe there's nobody in his area willing to let him have a vehicle for a few days. I completely agree with the previous person who stated that he NEEDS to drive one of these for a while to really see what the fuss is all about. Development would be so much faster and easier instead of the delayed emailing back and forth, etc.

Will we ever be able to have a local dyno tuner perform a full custom tune? Or are we totally tied to OVT's generic maps?

I think it's almost unfair to ask OVT to let other people's meat beaters on his software. He's the only one to break Tacoma coding, I'd personally keep that under wraps if I was the one doing it.

I like the idea of OVtune renting a new Tacoma for a week or two. There's no way they'd be the wiser, unless it actually blew up lol. Just filler er up with gas, flash with OEM shit tune and drop it off.

    Why the hell not?

Hell, leave the tune in and surprise the crap out of someone renting it. They go buy one and wonder what the hell is wrong with their new tacoma...

For an off the shelf tune it's a hell of alot better them nothing. Basically reminds me of the Hypertech tuner I first ran for a Mazdaspeed 3. Although i was able to upload basic bolt ons and it was priced $300. Plus it made the car run lean since in was a as we called "can of tune".

Thsnks bud. I corrected my post, sorry bout that.

In the Genesis Coupe world we had a Korean tuner that would call them "canned tunes" for the flashes you ordered. But dyno tunes were the best. Pretty close from one brand to the next.

Agree. Tuners like the Accessport are best because you can fine tune per you mods, elevation, temp etc and throw her on the dyno to dial her in.

With the 3rd gens being new, I don't think there's a lot of people who have had them smogged. The tune should pass smog though.
