My tune kit came with a dongle. I am going back to the instructions to see if I can identify my ECU.

Did you buy used? New kits don't come with a dongle.

I bought it a long time ago but don't tune often enough. Every time I need to do it I always forget how to do it.
I identified the tune, it is 04B04

At this rate I might be seeing 30mpg by next week. 1.05.1 91b is awesome. Just keeps getting better and better and better. Congrats Mat.

I have a question for anyone that has a dongle kit. According to the instructions, i need to use PCMFlash to flash the new tune 1.05 04B04 91 performance. Instructions specifically said don't use P5Flash utility. My question is how do I reset LV and AT? Is is ok at this point to use P5Flash utility to reset these values?

I sent in my code this morning, now waiting for Matt to send the key. So now I have a question. I was going to just do the 87 tune, but thought what the heck the 91 tune sounds pretty damn good, so is the 91 tune the performance one? I really don't want a twitchy throttle. Is the 91 tune a performance tune or is that a separate one? Do I have them mixed up? Main use is street driver (that shifts well). Thanks

They all have a base and perf version. Go with the 91 base. Perf versions have the touchy throttle.

    I have a question.
Can I have the 91 base tune and the gearlock tune flashed on my truck at the same time?
    If so, how?

No, 1 tune at a time, but you can switch as often as you like, just need to reflash....

So I assume the latest Flash Manager version is 1.3.0? Correct?

This is what is currently on the OVtune page, ver. 1.2.2?

You have to use Techstream to do it. Someone here knows where to point you to figure all that out.

You can’t reset LV yet with the dongle tune, but it’s coming supposedly

Also, the 87 base tune is pretty nice. I have tried both, but the base tunes just drive nice

Makes sense, looks like you’ve got about 60% of the combined weight rating so towing is likely just as you described. My combined is around 80% so all my towing is done in S4 with ECT.

Yep, big difference. I guess what I was getting at is that, based on load, there seems to be sweet spots where going faster gets you better mileage (to a point, duh). The much improved low end torque with the OVTune lets you hold bigger gears, but you need to get the rpms up to where the torque is.

Also, I lost patience with gearlock and I only use ECT when driving trails. Silly me.

How in the hell?! I’ve barely broken 20. I drive the same route, at the same speed, in the same lane, with zero traffic every single day and mine fluctuates from 16-19. It’s never the same, I can’t figure it out haha.

This is easy to do if you set your cruise control at 37-40 MPH on a flat road.

    Source:

My commute to work is 14 miles on a flat road with a speed limit of 35 MPH.

This was my normal route from the Mtb trailhead back to my house. With 1.05 87base using 91oct my best after weeks of driving was 22mpg. 1.05.1 91b is showing better mpgs every tankful.
