Gear lock tune (only available with performance, not base) allows you to lock the automatic into a specific gear by using 'S' mode and ECT.

FOB is essentially the manual transmission performance tune.

Mat used to give estimates, if he missed a timeline people would lose them minds and go ballistic so I don't blame him for not giving timelines anymore.

 

FYI, USB3 ports don't have to be blue if all of the ports on the device are USB3. Some manufactures will still do it though to boast.

 

I though Gearlock wasn't available with 1.5 87 tune

 

It is available but not with the 87 base tune. You get 87GL and Performance together

 

What is listed there when you hit the drop-down arrow next to the word "Base" in that screenshot?

 

You should update your flash manager. 1.3.0 is the current version.

So I took my truck in today for the last free service, the 55,000 mile service. When I got the transcript back of what was allegedly performed, there was a statement that has made me curious to say the least. It reads "54877 RESHAPE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND REFLASH COMPUTER".

They did not tell me they were going to do it or even mention that they had done it. I just saw it on the invoice that they gave me at the end.

Why would they do this? Do I need to reinstall my tune file? Has anyone else ever had this happen?

which dealer? I wonder if the latest ECU flash Toyota talked about with the 2020 Taco to improve driving is being passed down to all older trucks.

I am going to go check and see what the calibration file it says it is running is. I was 04B04.

 

Does it run differently that you noticed? Shift points, etc?

So now I wonder if they restarted it that fresh or my tune file is still in there?

 

If they did flash it, check the invoice and see if it references a TSB # - maybe get a read verification of what the version is called (still 04B04?). I would hold off on re-flashing in case there are any issues.

 

I think it ran comparably but I have been breaking in gears for the same short duration of time that I have had the tune and this morning was the first time I have hit the interstate since either was installed so I cant really say with any certainty. It did drive very well though.

 

This was the invoice. Seems oddly written. For one thing, this was my 55000 mile service, not my 5000 mile service. The other is it seems like they copied and pasted that line and the paste button got stuck. They also didnt even attempt to charge me for a flash when they typically would and would also tell me that they would have to set up an appointment to do a flash of any kind.
