Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Sounds good.

I gained about one to two MPGs with the tune, but I was at 19.4 on the TSB tune already.

I would like a lift, 35s, and some armor, but I don't get offroad often enough and the kids keep stealing my mod money.

 

I just subbed to tis for the first time. I cant get it to communicate

question: will the ovtuned cable not with TIS?

 

Single tank. 18.99 gallons at the pump. Looking forward to take it on longer trip to see if I can get to 500 and beyond..
Btw, I was hitting past 400 regularly on this truck. It is stock SR5 with 34 psi cold tires and the chin and I drive barefoot with the big toe....

 

If your question is "Will the OVtune Tactrix cable work with TIS Techstream", then the answer is yes. It works perfectly and no driver nonsense as with other cables.

 

thank you, i just got it to work. Do I need to inform ovtune of my new ecu file? how would i get the new tune?

 

Email support@ovtune.zendesk.com. Matt should be able to answer your question within a few business days.

 

You just choose your ECU in Flash Manager and download the available tunes. Same as always.

 

You may need to look under a different year, in the menu, to find your new ECU. It is the model year of the ECU, not necessarily the model year of the truck.

 

I am at the finish line - but stuck.... OB plugged in, truck turned on (not running) and nothing happens. Isn't identifying truck it seems when I select "identify".

The "Interface" is also blank...

I did "update"

Any thoughts?

PS - reg key is downloaded and viewable in downloads. Did update file successfully per prompts

 

If you click on the pull down arrow at the interface, is there a choice for the interface you want?
You may need to down load the drivers. There is a walk through in the video instruction. It's right around 1:30 mark

 

In my frustration to move fast I don't do what I should which is to be patient and follow instructions slowly, and as usual tacomaworld member saves the day with the simple and accurate suggestion...and that's it. Thanks Fatboyfirebass (lol) - kept another member in the fold.

I've been running 93 base 2-3000 miles now and like it just fine. No "out of this world" gas mileage, just good smooth shifting and hold gears nicely. Gas stations I use have 87,89,93 octane. I would be using 91 base if I had 91 octane gas. I figured since I was using 93 octane I may as well us 93 base tune. I realize I could be using 91 base tune but I'm good where I'm at. I would suggest 91 base or 93 base. Performance tunes were to jerky for me.

 

I never got the whole point of being rude when moderators ban someone.....the crossed out name should be a clue they messed up and got the boot.


Anyways whose going to make the OV decals?!?!?
