Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

No just tried resetting it right after I flashed. Didn’t touch anything

 

Yup this is exactly what happened.
Glad I’m not alone

 

Give it some miles/time.

On the 93 file you start from an aggressive base.
On the OLE files it starts from lowest octane base and works up.

 

Btw @OVTune thanks for making this product. I just submitted you for a Nobel peace prize because I almost went Battle of Verdun on my truck before I found this.

 

Octane learning doesn't need to be done everytime we reset AT/LV values or change gas correct?

 

No! Not necessarily. You have to check your ECU number to see which ECU your truck is running. If you are NOT on 04B04 you could possibly screw your truck up!! If you read the instructions you would find this information out! IF ALL ELSE FAILS FOLLOW DIRECTIONS! Also there will be NO-NO help for those that do not adhere to the instructions! Per the aforementioned instructions! I hope that you understand? Do not brick your ECU.

Had it updated at dealer 8 months ago....identified prior to flash 04b04

If you say something like "I was in the mountains over the weekend and my truck ran like shit and stumbled and almost stalled" They will have to update. Because they cannot replicate that scenario. Say around 7000 ft. in elevation. Hope that helps.

As far as the 1500-5000rpm pulls for 2.0, are those to be done ASAP after flashing or can they be done within the first 50 miles or so?

 

I believe that OVTune says that it can be done over time, but, it will be accomplished quicker if you follow the instructions and do the WOT application first to speed the process up.

 

Funny how everyone is happier after an update when open throttle is involved

Well I think that most of these OVTUNE motor heads wouldn't settle for less? What do you think? I am including myself of course.

 

I think that this is great. OVTUNE has inspired so many people. Giving these people hope that their trucks can be rejuvenated into something that they can enjoy and have fun with. Be it a daily or off road or vacation. Not having to think about selling their investment because of the Toyota flaws that make this truck almost un-drivable! We now have a reliable vehicle that should take us into what ever situation we want to venture into! This is awesome. I am looking forward to having as many years that I have with my past Tacomas, Tacomas that have given me many memorable moments in my life. Times that I did not feel as reluctant to venture into the wild as I often do while hunting or fishing in very out of the way places.
