Tuned my truck to 2.0 today and just got back from a 1 hour joyride and WOW. My truck is normal now! Tested out cruise control and no irrational drops to 4th anymore! Couldn't be any happier!

Hopefully there will be a way to change between performance and base on the fly without needing the Multi terrain dial! Perhaps offer the performance tune in ECT?

    That would be great!

Thanks for the hard work, really enjoying the latest 2.0!

Anyone on the 2.0 Beta w/ 04B31 notice any issues when in D with ECT and going 100% throttle (pedal to the floor) in 2nd gear? I bounced off the rev limiter at 6500 and then the truck cut throttle for a second and picked back up at approx 4500. It then shifted into 3rd. I was able to replicate it 3 times.

Also of note, I did not reset AT or LV so if I’m the only one, that will be my next step.

    Edit: Running 91 Octane

I have this behavior too, but I did reset the AV and LT FWIW. Thanks for bringing this up! BTW, have you submitted a zendesk ticket to Mat @OVTune ?

LOL....what possessed you to even try that scenario?...and when would that scenario get played out in the real driving world? Send your findings to the zendesk, Mat doesn't seem too busy these days, he might be able to come up with a software patch for you.

How many miles on the tune? If you drive like that before the tune settles you’re going to get strange occurrences.....

Good call! I personally don't even have 50 miles on the 2.0 tune. It happened as I was going through the 1,500 rpm to 5,000 rpm cycle, but maybe I punched it a little too hard! lol

Is 04B31 even released yet? I thought that ECU was not available yet, only 04b30 was out, do you have a link?

I’ve had the same thoughts about my truck (04A61). I’ve just been thinking it’s the octane learning that hasn’t fully learned the 93 octane yet. I’ve only put about 30 miles on the tune.

I agree. The 1st beta had really bad throttle lag. The 2nd beta (OLE with GL) had much better throttle response (similar to 1.05). The latest 3rd beta (OLE base) is somewhere between the 1st beta and 2nd beta. Definitely can use more throttle and low end torque.

At this point I imagine some lucky people have the handheld tuners in their possession. Does anyone have any feedback on those yet and @OVTune will you be opening up preorder for anymore any time soon? Need a handheld to jump on the 2.0 bandwagon. Thanks.

I would have to say that a slight throttle lag in first gear makes technical crawling and accelerating from a stop on wet or icy roads MUCH more predictable. A punchy, twitchy off-idle throttle is hard to manage when you need to slow roll it.
It's great on dry roads, but other than that not well suited for a 4x4.

I am on latest 2.0 Beta file and truck is much improved. I have a question for those with the dump tubes. Do you notice any low end to mid range improvement in torque

Getting on the freeway, maybe? Dumb ass! What part of what I said isn’t normal? It wasn’t gear locked in 2nd. It was in Drive, full pull in 2nd gear. It rev’d to 6500 and then cut out.
