Thanks to the person who assisted me in updating my 04B02 to 04B04. It was a piece of cake and now I am on the new beta tune. Loving it so far.

Yeah - that's why I'm asking. I'd gladly pay for the convenience of not having to grab any equipment to change tunes on-the-fly using just the crawl mode selector. It'd be a big help when on the road for economy, then switching at destination for performance. Or even interstate travel where octane levels vary...

Where did all this talk about extra equipment come from to change tunes on the final 2.0?

I think OLE will negate the necessity of octane specific tunes and everything might be controlled with the ECT button for Autos.

    ECT off = base
    ECT on = performance
    S Mode = gearlock
    S Mode + ECT = BOOOOOOOST

    Just speculation

He said he is implementing a way to change tunes on the fly.

Extra equipment to do so is nonsense and not implied anywhere lol.

Probably through a pattern of buttons to be used, hell even a combination of ect and gear selector, kinda like the way gear lock worked.

I think frito frio is saying he’ll be happy to not need his laptop; ie multitune.

Hope all the change-on-the-fly tunes keep their learned parameters so won't have to relearn each time you change-on-the-fly.

Maybe I'm ultimately wrong but I doubt this, seeing as some trucks are manual and don't have ECT or a gear selector, and he'd said that his method would work for all models. Presumably, the method of changing the tune will be identical across the model range

It would be fabulous if the possibility could be in the heads up variety, like adding a page to a menu??? @OVTune

I hope it’s not via the “mode” button on the steering wheel since that’s how I activate my rear camera anytime mod

I'm a "OD Tuner" (Original Dongle) and had 104, 105 and settled for 93Oct Base 105 for about 25,000 miles. Once 2.0 was released I ran all versions and even went down to 87 Octane just to see how that ran. The lower octane ran just fine but I could tell a difference, and so back to 93 unless gas prices go back to stupid. Doing so without having to re-flash is pretty sweet.

Loved my truck ever since I bought it but realized it's limitations and quirks. Improved MPG, improved performance and getting a bit more power has made it just a pleasure to have. This past weekend did the first hard off-road run. A 2 mile logging trail on my buddy's property just outside Red River Gorge was a testament to these trucks' capabilities. Besides catching a hard hit from a boulder on the driver side step-rail, no problems handling a difficult path with this stock suspension. The steep grades made me wonder how the truck would have handled it pre-OVTune.

Last note. How many of you guys are still hitting/updating the OVTune sticky poll?

Same here. I also have a front cam I use often. All tied to a double tap of the Mode button.

Adding a page may not effect that...
    :fingerscrossed:

You know... scroll up or down

and the possibility of future expansion, like turbo, wheel size, 4.88/5.26/4.11 ...
who knows what Mat could master in there.... :)
