ECU needs to see the "input".
You have more luck with pressing brakes and select the tune..Otherwise, the whole AM range is wide open..Just dont take "coast to coast" frequency..

CC buttons in some fashion... I guess that would only leave out a very small number of V6 SRs? :notsure:

That's the conclusion I came to after studying the EWDs. I didn't see anything else connected directly to the ECM that looked usable.

I hope not... ECT is not the same as Performance. I prefer ECT

I won't be heartbroken if Mat doesn't end up providing a way to change maps without flashing. I don't mind flashing maps, I don't find it to be some big terrible inconvenience. I choose a map that I want to run, and I run it. I have no need to be switching maps around. I don't share the excitement that many others have other this, so it's whatever.

    Ditto
When I eventually receive the dump tubes ordered in June they will have a tune dedicated to that setup,so no need or benefit to switching tunes.

Well, base file mapping generally gives me better fuel economy than FOB. FOB has always given better low end. There are times when being able to switch on the fly would benefit me over starting fresh with a re-flash..... idle learn...run like dogshit for a few miles... Just an opinion.

I see what you did there :D

Also, are we 100% sure there won't be variations of the dump tube tune? IIRC, Mat said he'd be sending out dump tube Beta files with the hardware..

Is that a old post? I thought fueling isn’t a issue any more??

    It is an old post.

The intent was to show that Mat had the CC button method in mind previously.. nothing more.

...and there's been quite a bit of speculation as of late.

I'm guessing he's figured it out by now, and cruise buttons is the logical conclusion.

Meh, I guess if the M/T crowd ever sees an Octane learning Beta it will become apparent if map switching is actually needed. If that works out and the throttle response keeps us happy, well...
You know, since we aren't smashing our trucks through walls and garage doors due to "tip in" :D

    Fucking lol...

I'm still just happy to have someone working on fixing the shit that Toyota should have gotten right from the factory. I'm happy to switch maps for octane with the computer. Performance map switching with button presses is icing.

Don't get me wrong, flashing is definitely a first world problem IMO. Until 2.0 Beta 87 however, it was a crap shoot how my truck would react to a flash lol. Damn Ginger.

How's the Ginger doing? Last I saw you were pretty happy with 2.0 so far? If the Ginger likes it, no one else should have issues.
