I’m not saying to share it with anyone. I only send it to myself and never anyone else. This is just a last resort if you’re stuck at work and don’t have access to your tuning laptop.

There’s no risk if you can read and make sure you download the correct file and email it to yourself. I always double check the file before flashing to make sure it matches my ECU ID.

I know Mat doesn’t want people emailing tune files to other people, which makes total sense, but I don’t think I’m violating anything by sending it to myself.

Release the beta. I don't see why the rest of us have to suffer because of some mofo that can't follow simple directions?

Yes we did, and Mat has delivered in spades with constant updates. He could have kept it close-hold and not released a thing until he considered it perfect for final launch. Instead he's awesome in wanting to catch all of the feedback & nuances that he can.

You can wait a day for it to go live while he updates the instructions to go with it.

    Go back to bed

No need to apologize, I didn’t take it that way and you did state it clearly. I just wanted to make it clear I wasn’t advocating emailing other people the tune files. I was just trying to help out people so they wouldn’t miss out on the beta tune release if they were stuck at work or out of town when the files go live.

    It’s a beta.

And he owes you nothing above and beyond the original product he delivered.

    I agree with you.

I hope he cancels it and leaves 1.05 as the final release. He owes nobody anything. If anything he owes his family some time for how much he puts into this.

Then releases a gold tune for an additional $3,000 for the **** some of you all spew out.

I was able to answer my own question today:
I use an aftermarket Kenwood HU and MaestroRR to retain steering wheel settings and knew up front from this thread that I would have to disconnect Maestro while attempting to flash or it will not succeed. That meant digging into the dash every time I wanted to try a new version here....and it's easy but a pain. Today I just pulled Radio Fuse 1 under the hood and confirmed that's all I needed. Now that is a lot easier....and now...to get my BETA miles in before feedback....

Highly doubt your original motive was “trolling”.

And if it was, why? Why would you add such nonsense to an already convoluted thread?

Live a little. Our trucks will never be perfect but you guys are expecting to see a miracle from a tune. Be happy that it's better than the stock taco.

@wahoobie I have a Kenwood HU and I turn off the OBD communications for flashing. Under Menu > AV > OEM Setup > Maestro Settings > Guages > OBD2 communications > And hit disabled. When done flashing you can turn OBD back on.
