I’m still on 1.05 performance .... tip in does take some getting use to, but now I’m ok with it. Beats stock !

Not harping on you but, do you realize how many people have this tune? VS how many complain? I have tried all the tunes for my 2017 truck and have never had any problems with the "Tip In". These trucks are UNIQUE to say the least. IMHO. The people that complain about the Tip In are the same ones every time. Not different ones. :hattip:

A lot of people are basing this off of four low. Let's be realistic how many miles a day do you drive in for low?I'm an old guy the tip in is not bad on this!

Not often, but many here do off-road and daily drive their Tacos. If you like the tune you don't have to reflash when Mat releases an update with less aggressive tip in. Personally I think the tip in is not as bad as 1.05 performance but still a little too aggressive.

The tip-in sensitivity has a lot to do with stock vs modified trucks too. I know on my stock A061 with stock tires it’s very sensitive. Bigger tires and heavier weight it’s better. Matt even said he had complaints of tip in issues on stock trucks per his post #51287 hence the modified beta coming this week.

OV 93 tune, TRD pro intake, LED headlights, LED interior lights, tuffskinz interior overlays "RCF", tailgate inlay, Illuminated kickplates, blue interior compartment inlays. Painted voodoo blue interior trim, nitto ridge grapplers, bara 1 inch spacers, redline pro hood struts, trd oil and radiator caps.
Having similar issue with 1.05 93 GL. On 19 Trd pro.
2 distinct issues. First, if you floor it 0-100 style if it WOTs in etger 3rd or 4th I cant remember, it will just bounce off the rev limiter then begin pulling again THEN shift into the next gear. And the other issue that bugs me more,, because let's face it.... hardly ever WOT the truck to 100..... is the throttle is nonsense. There is a dead spot where it does absolutely nothing, then it just goes all out racecar mode. It's the same when I want it to kick down. I will be going up an incline say at 65mph in 5th or 6th. Slowly I will start pressing the peddle as the truck is slowing down because physics... keep pressing, keep pressing.... and about 60% depressed it FINALLY kicks down. And it doesnt just kick down one gear, it kicks down and takes off like a racecar again. Modulation of speed is nearly impossible in this truck. And i dont think it's just the trans, i think part of the issue is that it is a retarded dual cycle engine, Atkinson and otto. So it's so worried about getting to 1200rpm at all times it doesnt give a shit about the current driving condition.

The drop in engine speed for each gear is mechanically dictated, unless the torque converter is unlocked. The speed at which the engine turns for a given wheel speed varies based on the gear the transmission has engaged. The only variation in that comes from an unlocked torque converter, which can allow the engine to spin faster than the transmission input shaft up until the stall speed of the torque converter or until the torque converter is locked up.

When you’re doing the WOT thing, is ECT and/or S mode engaged? If so, that may be the issue that’s causing the problem. If not, I dunno. I agree with you about the dead pedal. Why don’t you give 2.0 a shot? It’s nearly perfect

Ok, so I’be been reading posts for a while and now I’m wondering if I should even try any more 1.05 tunes, or leap into the 2.0? The only tune I’ve tried .....1.05 87 GL. Was going to test out 91 base, but now thinking why bother......

What is this? Some kind of fact? Get that nonsense out of here. It’s all about emotion and speculation. That’s how trucks work...right guys? Gees

Lol! I agree with the dude (maybe it was you) that said raising the shift point on a load based basis would make the RPM drop more “palatable”

If you are going to 91 octane, try the last 2.0 beta and/or what is coming end of the week.

Yea, I’m leaning that way.... I can’t distinguish the TQ unlocking / locking or weather it’s the Atkinson / Otto cycle.... but there ‘s a few areas under light throttle that it seems unsure of what to do.....

I was on 1.05 Performance and the current 2.0 beta is such an improvement over it. There is a toned down tip-in but the shifting is sooo much better.

Try 2.0 beta ole. It's awesome. It wont skip gears on down shift anymore. And it's so smooth. Truck seems so much lighter.
