Here is our statement on it from 2018.

Our tune still has emissions testing certification for Toyotas federal emissions standards / requirements.

I think most people would consider going to the hand held or dongleless if it made things quicker / easier for new file releases and updates

I’d probably pick up a hand held.

No worries. and I think you will be happy with the catless files. I haven't had a report yet of people having any issue with them since flashing.

Mat, 19800 is the only 2.0 beta I’ve flashed so I’m not comparing one beta to another nor claiming weird shifting. Just observing that when in D under light throttle (city driving) and once the engine/transmission has warmed up, a consistent early upshift from 4 to 5 occurs around 1500 rpm.

This behaviour has been present from stock through 1.05. My current work around is to use S4 for city driving.

I experienced some inconsistent shifting/throttle response when going from 19770 to 19800 initially. For the record, I did not reset learned values for engine or transmission in Techstream. After a day or so, I decided to reset value and the quirks are gone.
I just put 700 miles on 91 octane 19800 in the last four days and could not be happier with the performance and fuel efficiency.

Why are only a few tunes available for 04B23, do I require a dealer update? 2017 AT 4x4

@OVTune with the current issue I'm facing with the "unsuccessful" load of 19800 pcm and the resulting "brake override malfunction" preventing me from loading 19800 (ZH #10472), I'm wondering if moving from a dongle user to Flash Manager user is the right next step here....thoughts? If this would either resolve the issue or make things easier to debug, what is the process to convert?

Does that CEL thing include the rear O2 sensor lean/rich limits?

Luckily got my order in before the shop closed and waiting on ship...been reading these threads on and off but one question or feedback/opinions wanted.

I plan on 91 stock either way, and really only care about shifting/mpgs etc so should I just stick with current 1.05 stable or beta since it sounds like the beta was only throttle changes? Clearly the answer is try them both and decide myself but just curious if anyone has experience while I wait :) thanks in advance

Beta is much more than throttle changes over 1.05. They are talking about differences between two beta versions beings the tip-in. Most like the bets versions better than 1.05.

I’ve been on 1.05 for a month, so yesterday I switched to 2.0 19800 , 91 octane. Only drove a few miles but can tell you it shifts so much smoother, it really is like a different truck ( from stock)

right on...silly question so please hold the laughs :) ... is the stock/base beta tune the 'stock exhaust' tune download? not sure I recall ever seeing be called that then again never paid much attention on the DL pages since I have yet to receive it.

:bananadance:What I meant by “stock”was from factory ( no tune ). Any OVTune is going to be much better than stock! I’m still a newbie with it all, but I’m pretty happy with 2.0 beta.... 17 TRD sport, ECU 04b04, stock gears, stock exhaust.... 33” tires, cold air intake....

There are so many opinions on this thread, but keep in mind everyone’s truck is different with tire size , extra weight like off-road bumpers/winches etc.... you just need to try several tunes to find the one that works for your truck/ driving style......good luck!
