Where can I pay for the 16+ 2.7L Tuner?

To much nanny controls on the 2.7L. Sometime it rips, and others it feels like I'm fighting a 100mph headwind with flat tires. Not sure what the computer has going sometimes.

I thought you just put redbull right in the gas tank. I'm pretty sure I saw that in a brochure somewhere.

It helps significantly to take it to a shop. A COTS (Commercial off The Shelf) tune is generic based of normally ideal conditions. A shop will connect to the OBD and read what the O2 sensors as sending, the knocks sensors, the MAF and a slew of other inputs while the vehicle is on the dyno. With lightweight materials and the design of the engines leaning towards efficiency you'd ideally want a someone who knows how to read and interpret the information and make changes so you don't cause issues later on. Just read up on ringland failures on the EJ series engine in Subaru's STi's. Guys would go and buy an exhaust and intake without tuning and bam...a few engines and warranty's out the door.

When the discussion turns to something like ringland failure, I immediately think over rev. Was this the case?

Could be the case but I'm sure no ones going to admit to it. Get a intake and a downpipe without a tune or a shitty COTS tune and I'm sure they would see failure in a short period of time.

I'm surprised they warrantied it. Throw an aftermarket tune on it with a downpipe the suffer a failure. I'd say it's not Subaru's fault but good on you for getting it fixed...

Could this be because it is a turbo car with high cylinder pressure?

Installing an intake and exhaust could also result is a constant lean condition which we all know is not ever a good thing.

Yeah they knew I had it tuned, and the down pipe. They first wanted like 3500 to fix it, but I kept on them. it was a known problem with those subies. Def their fault. They should learn how to make a good motor. Lots of people had the problem even on stock motors. The factory tune was really bad.

@OVTune - any chance you can see if the ECU controls when the rear locker can be engaged? Reason I asked is because many of us would like to engage the rear locker either in 2wd or 4-high. Toyota only allows it to be engaged in 4 lo. The 2nd gen Tacoma had an easy mod via some wire reconfig to allow this. The 3rd gen seems to now have this more restricted in the ECUs. This would be a huge selling point if you could crack this as well.

Presumably you'll have the same ROM version as me (2016 OR M/T). Thanks for doing this

    Yeah I know he's getting a discount.

our kits allow you to read and save all OBD data to send to us so we can dial the tune in.
