Im an OG dongle user. Should I just open a ticket to get converted? I like the idea of having those clearing buttons rather than having to use TS

I’m patiently waiting, I’m just curious if the truck drives different if you have different ecu ids with OVTune. Like 04A60 vs another version. What’s a ts upgrade

Using Techstream to update your ECU version, if an upgrade is applicable

Will it say on tech stream if I am eligible?

Well I do believe it just won't work if the cuw file you attempt to use isn't applicable but before getting to that point, you're better off just knowing. I recommend finding out what ECU version you have, and then from there you can determine if you can apply an update. For example, I went from 04B12 to B13. Some people have gone from 04B03 to B04, and so on

Okay so I have 04A60 so I can go to 04A61. That sound correct?

Quick question for clarification: When 19800 beta was first released, I downloaded both the 87 and 91 octane versions for the dongle (pcm files). The links for those files were then removed from the beta site. Were the dongle files for 19800 removed due to an issue discovered with those specific files, or were they simply left off until all of the other pcm files are ready to go?

In other words, is it safe to flash the 19800 pcm files I managed to snag before they were taken down again?

It does but I'm not an AT owner, so I haven't entirely kept myself up to date on the newer AT ECU versions. I'm sure someone here will chime in with confirmation.

Hoping someone can help me here. I have a 2016 TRDOR/AT and I've ordered the tune from @OVTune. I seem to recall somewhere in the thread way back where a particular TSB needs to be applied to the vehicle prior to flashing. Can someone confirm which TSB that's referring to (again)? Just want to make sure I'm ready to flash when it arrives. Much appreciated!

tsb 58-18 or 62-18 should be the ones to take your ECU from 04B03 to 04B04. They address different issues but are the same reflash file for your truck.

there are a lot of threads for these in the main 3rd gen forum. I had my dealer apply mine, there is a list of people in different areas of the country that are willing to update your ecu with techstream if you find your dealer is hesitant to help

I asked the dealer to upgrade me from 04A60 to 04A61 by applying TSB T-SB-0062-18. This TSB fixes the stumble at high altitude.

Since you are in Wylie, just say you took a camping trip to the mountains and the stumbled occurred. That is what I did. They may give you lips service about how they have to verify the issue, but in order for them to perform the verification, they'll have to get the truck to altitude. Mine gave me a little lip, until I asked how they were going to reproduce the stumble.

Print this out and take it in to the dealer and start using 2.0 04A61

Thanks for the tip. I was in Ouray, Co for FJSummit this summer and I'm SURE I recall that being an issue there... :)

They were simply removed. Without any explanation. Then people started saying it was "too much work" for Mat to generate tune files for the dongle people.
I'm sorry.. but WTF??? The dongle people were the original supporters of this tune. And in the current situation, the dongle files had already been produced. They were there to be downloaded... and then they weren't.

The dongle files of build 19770 were on there. Build 19800 has NOT yet and were NOT removed.
Do you see build 19770 of p5f on there?

When we update a beta on that page we have ALWAYS pulled the older version off.

Am I losing my mind or does nobody pay any attention to what we have been doing this entire time.

Just because the current versions on there are .p5f, does not mean we have purposely removed build 19800 .pcm (we didn't) or are not making them at all (incorrect assumption).

I follow this thread every day. I literally read and read and read. I’ve gone now to starting from beginning trying to read this entire thread (original posters comments only). Through reading as much as I have, I would like to say I’m not a OVTune owner. I’ve never purchased and just like reading and waiting for the day that it makes sense for me.

Here’s why I am chiming in. You say ‘am I losing my mind we’ve been doing this the entire time’. Speaking for myself, I don’t understand many things you say. People that are fluent and have been following this for a very long time, you make perfect since. It took me a couple weeks to even figure out what tip-in meant. So my advice, if warranted, would be make things simpler for lesser knowing folks like me maybe? Just a thought now I’ll get back to full time reader! Keep up the good work.

If they are there, then I apologize for my statement. I looked yesterday AFTER I saw people started saying they had been removed. I didn't see any .pcm files. I just looked again, and I'm still not seeing them.
Maybe there is a new link? https://www.ovtuned.com/pages/2-0-public

I went back to the page again and used the 'Find' function in Chrome, searching for .pcm
    There were no results returned.

Build "19800" with the extension .pcm was on the page on Oct 2nd. That's when I downloaded it. I have NOT tried to flash it. Maybe it is not a valid file?

I downloaded these two files from your beta page, Oct 2nd.
    04B04+-+2.0+EROM+87+-+Shift+Build+19800.pcm
    04B04+-+2.0+EROM+91+-+Shift+Build+19800.pcm

I am currently running the 91 octane version.

I'll chime in again, as a dongle user who switch laptop regularly, switching to software key reg is a hassle, for me and OVT. I understand the need to reduce number of files Mat need to export, perhaps update Toyflash to authenticate with USB dongle. Release P5F Toyflash files, dongle users update via Toyflash. If that's possible. Please understand I am not telling Mat how to run his business, just throwing out ideas in hopes of making the process more efficient.
