If Mat is agreeable, I would suggest that any change to "Dongless .pc5 only" be delayed until after the final 2.0 "free" release. Then anyone that wants to move on to additional "paid" tunes also would agree to a switch to dongless operation. Seems like a logical cutoff point to me.

Flashing 04B04 19800 91 octane was routine and "uneventful". Loaded under 5 minutes, turned truck off, unplug OBD connector, turned back on for 10 minutes idle then drove off into the sunset. Haven't reset values since 1.04. I had 16012 (no gear lock with OLE) before that, and 10867 87 octane before that using 91 gas. Every 2.0 beta flashed without issue. Skipped the performance oriented 2.0 betas due to aggressive tip in.

Surely I am not the only 04B04 19800 91 truck in the wild :tumbleweed:

I am too, I like it. Tip in is perfect for a stock truck.

I had the same "unsuccessful" & "brake override malfunction" with both 04B04 build 16012 and 19800-91 pcms. Prior to that never had an issue and I've kept up with pretty much every released build since 1.1. I've submitted ZD Ticket 10472 on this recent issue with 19800 back on 10/5 and waiting a reply from @OVTune. When I faced this issue on 16012, he had me to a Clear DTC, turn off truck, start truck and verify no CELs, then proceed with flash. This procedure corrected the flash of 16012 (which I'm still currently on). Did the same procedure after getting the "unsuccessful" & "brake override malfunction" on 19800 but the end result was an immediate "unsuccessful" when attempting to flash. Hoping to get a reply on the issue from Matt soon.

After 2 years of playing with my Dongle I’ve finally gotten pretty good with it. So let’s say I’m pretty much a 93 Gearlock preferred tune 100% of the time.. if a final 2.0 Octane Learning performance gearlock comes out would I benefit with the handheld?? Will it allow me to log so Mat can customize me up?

Fellow dongle tuner here... I believe the handheld has logging capability. I also believe we can log with the flash manager... it’s just not enabled or something. I use Techstream though. It means I have to drive around with my laptop, but it’s not often that I log. This would also be the case if flash manager was used. If I just want to watch stuff, I use OBD Fusion.

I definitely have 87 and 91 dongle (pcm) files for my 04B30 that have "19800" in their filenames. I downloaded them when they first appeared on 10/2, as well.

Mat is working his ass off on all of this stuff, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he simply forgot that he uploaded them alongside the original batch of 19800 p5f files, and then accidentally removed them when he added all of the 4.88 tune files.

If that's not actually what happened, I have no other idea where these files could have come from. That would be a pretty wild wtf situation. o_O

I personally just want to know whether or not they're safe to flash.

Yeah i downloaded the 19800 files on 10/2 as well. But never loaded them since I was waiting for the 4.88 version of 19800

Pardon the noob question and if it is the wrong forum...I'm a new-ish owner and the OVTune is something I am looking at but I couldn't find my answer:

Does the GearLock tune get rid of the programming where when you move the gear selector from 'D' to 'S' it forces the trans into 4th gear? I can not tell you how many times I have been on the highway at 130km/h, moved the selector to 'S' (sometimes accidentally) and had the engine rpm skyrocket...really freakin' annoying.

    Thanks much.

I tried "Dongleless" but it just doesn't look right to me. But maybe your's doesn't look right either?

I am also using the 19800 tune on 04B04 and it is my favorite tune so far after trying all of the previous 2.0 betas. Driving on the freeway this morning with and without cruise control for 3 hours resulted in very few downshifts and only to 5th, never to fourth with and without cruise control. The tip-in is much better now too.

There is a 04B05? Or you mean 04B04?

No it still shifts to the main drive gear (4th). 5th and 6th are overdrive gears (unless you re-geared). However, for gearlock to work ECT must be on in “S” mode. This will NOT let it downshift or upshift. “S” mode without ECT is just plain ‘ol “S” mode. If you are in “D” with ECT on it will not downshift unless you drop really low in the rpms (to prevent a stall)

Anyone running 2.0 (any version of it) can get the TC to lock in cruise control at 38-45 mph?

mine stays unlocked the entire time the cruise control is set. If I ride without CC at those speeds, TC is locked.
