You should be able to use your MacBook, but you would have to install a copy of windows on it. It is not a hard process using boot camp.

You'll also need Fel-Pro 23591 2.25" circle gaskets for the other end. Got mine at Advanced Auto but you can also get OEMs from Toyota.

 

There are performance and base tunes for both 87 and 91+. There are base tunes for both. My suggestion is try them all. What works for someone else may not make you happy.

 

When will pcm tunes drop? First time my dongle has pissed me off. Just put one his catted dump tubes and can’t try any 2.0 tunes

I emailed you two weeks ago and still no response. I have a 2018 Tacoma M6 and have been running OVT for the last two years (dongle user). I've been trying to flash to 2.0 beta and I get the unsuccessful message right after it tries to ID the pcm. I tried to load other tunes and get the same result. I decided to see if the stock tune would work and it managed to load. Now the issue is I'm stuck on the stock tune and nothing else will load. I've tried three different laptops, made sure all the anti virus is off and a dozen other suggestions from forum members and still no luck.

 

Sorry I thought I already responded to your ticket about trying to load a 04B30 file into a 04B03 ecu..

Do this:
First, make sure you have the latest version of pcmflash (if it needs to update then update it. *generally this isn't a problem, but good to try)
Turn your truck on, click CLEAR DTC in pcmflash
shut the truck off
START THE TRUCK for 1-2 mins
shut the truck off
turn the truck on
try to flash

 

I looked this up and its listed as 2.55" OD, and it says "not compatible with 2016 Tacoma"

 

Should work. The P/N was given to me by another member who has installed the DTs.

It wasn't too bad but I am a mechanic so take that for what that is worth. I thought the hardest part was unplugging the o2 sensors lol. It took me just a little over an hour on my hoist,leave the 02 sensors in and remove them when you get the old cats on the bench and install them on your dump tubes before installing them.
It is a tight fit but you can get them out without removing any additional parts,you just have to wiggle them the right way Jack the truck up so the front tires hang free and you can go in from the wheel well without removing the tires to get the cylinder heads nuts. You will want a long extension and an impact wobble with a 12mm semi deep socket for the manifold nuts on the cylinder head A 14mm ratchet wrench is also handy for the exhaust brackets where they attach to the transmission. This was on a M/T truck,auto's may be different...

ETA I also had the URD cat delete ypipe installed beforehand so I did not have the secondary cats in the way...

@OVTune I have a similar problem but I am also getting the "brake override malfunction" after the "unsuccessful" (ZD: #10472) I haven't received a response yet to my ticket...should I follow this procedure as a next step on mine?

 

try it - doubt Mat would provide info or directions that would intentionally brick an ecu.

Given that this is the second beta drop that has experienced this problem, I'm hoping to get formal direction from @OVTune for specific next steps I should take based on my ticket submission (#10472)

I'm getting the "brake override malfunction" in addition to the "unsuccessful" which renders the truck undrivable, which is different from the issue the other user was seeing where Matt stated the procedure to try. I'll continue to wait for a response from @OVTune on my ticket 10472 as my issue is seemingly a bit different.
