Not sure what the id for it is.

It was released around Aug 25th and it was the first OLE with ECT working normally that people requested a lot.

1.05.1 was good but the throttle wasn't as predictable, which is the biggest reason 2.0 is being developed.

Agreed on 19800 taking too much skinny pedal. Especially tiresome on long trips.

I'm starting to get impatient really anxious, waiting on my handheld ordered on 8/30, received tracking info 9/25 but no update since. UPS hasn't received it per the tracking info.

But I guess it doesn't matter because handhelds can't be used yet per the last few posts. I just want to breathe a little life into my truck :notsure::help:

Any updates on shipping @OVTune, order 5092???

Please excuse my ignorance...I am using 1.05 stock 2018, the tune was just installed, so I am just putting miles on it. For the sake of planning,...I see you fine folks "voting" on these beta tunes. apparently 16012 is suggested, yet the web site only offers 19800 with it's various options.

And even if I wanted to attempt to try a beta tune, (not sure about this) what do I do with the download the I get when I click on the link? Is this a tune that I drag into the Toyota Flash manager download folder? If it is, then I use the same procedure as installing 1.05? (I am a non-dongle user)

    Thanks

Any chance there will be RAV4 tunes? The wife has a 2019, and it seems to have similar issues, just not quite as bad. Hesitation when you floor it, some gear hunting (but nothing like the Taco). When she took it in for the 5k service, the service writer or tech or someone, said they had heard those comments from other customers.

Betas are only available for limited time on the website for download, is a way for Mat to get feedback on various features and improvements. Yes, download your applicable P5F tune, save it to your PC, and flash the tune like you would 1.05. Drive it for few hundred miles and report feedback to Mat via ZenDesk.

I'm 2018 with a 2.5" King lift and 33's, and I don't like either 19770 or 19800 nearly as much as 16012, which for me is the best tune Mat has ever produced, hands down. I know I've said this before here, but running it with 91 octane it is damn near perfect for me and my driving habits. If the final version of 2.0 is more like 19800 I'll probably just run this beta as a final solution and be perfectly happy. My Taco has never driven so well.

Alientech has finally sorted out the updater issue on their updater, and I have been laoding them since yeseterday with the latest firmware. I have several going out today.
Also there are two different versions, with the standalone / open solution version should work for many ECUs right out of the box.

@OVTune , are you saying that the handhelds you've already shipped are going to need a firmware update before they'll work? If so will you be providing the firmware and updater to those of us who have already received their handhelds?

unfortunately yes, but it's very easy to do. When I post the software installer you just install it and connect, it updates everything on it's own you don't do anything

So we still need instructions on how to use the hand held and when can we expect those?
Also in the box, paper says “Flash to Stock before using Handheld”. I sent my dongle in as a trade.
How to flash to stock then?
Also sent a message via Zendesk this morning.
I’m selling my truck so need to know ASAP.

throttle is touchy on this one but after months of use I've gotten used to it and
    actually like it.

If you installed the downloadable file that has "stock" in its name, you're still running the factory Toyota tune - not OVtune. The "stock" files are only available for download so that you can return your vehicle to stock factory settings if you ever wish to do so.

You need to install one of the 1.05 base, performance, or gearlock files in order to actually run OVtune.

Which file did you install, specifically?
