@OVTune , how can we tell whether or not we have the Open Solution Version of the handheld?

 

who here has done the Catted Dump Tube mod w/o any other mod down stream (URD y pipe)?? have seen a few posts but little feedback on what they provide in the way of performance. I'm not interested in non-catted as I have emission testing to comply with. Thought I did read from Mat that the catted dump tubes will not throw codes. Considering them once they become available again. @OVTune, Mat - care to chime in and or point me to the encyclopedia of information for them? Thanks to replies and shared information. Install pics appreciated!

 

I'd assume if you ordered the handheld as a standalone kit it would be the OSV variety (aka: not an add-on to a tune licensed / purchased already) If its the add-on type, wait till further instructions from Mat

 

I don't want to assume anything, which is why I asked Mat.

 

Then how about this ... STR8 logic says OSV is a stanalone product vs the add-on

Hey guys, kinda new to TW. I just purchased the flash kit from Matt and am try to flash this evening but can’t seem to identify my ecu ID. I can click on the IDENTIFY button and it looks like it tries to load but then the toyflash page disappears. I do notice that the box beside the INTERFACE button is blank so not sure what the problem is. Might help if I was a bit smarter with a computer...
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys.

go to the OVTune video on install. watch it 10 times. try and try again. you are missing one or more steps in the identified process.

Ok so I got the drivers downloaded. So do I need to run the registry file that Matt sent me again?

 

Ok so I finally was able to pull up my ecu ID. But am showing that it’s the 04B01 so will need to get it updated at a dealership right????

 

You should be good.
But once you have identified your ECU , (and have disconnected from the truck, and reconnected to the internet), before you down load the tunes, set up a dedicated file folder just for the tunes, and be sure you now the directory path to reach it. This will be key when it comes time to reconnect to the truck and load the tunes from your laptop into the truck.

When in doubt, refer to the video.

 

Or... you could download one of the free versions of techstream and do it yourself using the cable and OBDII adapter from the tune kit... just need to do a search for a link to the correct TSB files for your truck.

Well you can already see I’m not real smart with this stuff.. but if your willing to walk me through it I’d give it a try.

 

anyone have an issue with the p5 flash disappearing from the menu? mines all greyed out, will not function. it worked to get my system id, and stopped after that. btw, all antivirus software is off.
