Not submitting a ticket yet as im trying to gather more info, but i wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue with the latest 19800 beta (04b04).
I will be driving (speed does not seem to matter) and ill give about 70-80% throttle and the rpm will climb to 5k and drop to 4-4500k then literally bounce back to 5k. It seems like maybe torque converter issue possibly? I need to recreate this issue a few more times b4 making a ticket. Anyone have something like this happen?

Well it seems like you could purposely avoid it too.

On my "all factory stock" 2017 Limited, 10867 has been the best too. My only complaint with it is the tip-in.

I currently have about 700 miles on 19800 91 octane, but the 2-3 and 3-4 early shifting feels like the stock programming.

I hope Mat comes out with a 19770 for 87 octane. That alone should soften the tip-in a bit. I have had no issues whatsoever with 19770 including the dreaded brake override malfunction disaster. 2.0 has eliminated that issue altogether. And the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts are appropriate for given throttle pedal input. Easily modulated with throttle pressure. Head and shoulders above any other beta thus far. 19800 was a dud for me. Thanks again Mat!

Anybody installed CATTED dump tubes with URD Y pipe yet? I’m pulling PO420 and PO430 check engine codes with this combo.

Anybody else have this setup and getting these codes?

Trying to figure out if I have a leak or some other issue or if it is just the combo of these pipes...

    100% agree

19770 on 04B31 premo! Crossing fingers Mat makes an 87octane tune on this 2.0 build.

Yeah, there is something off with 2-3, 3-4 shifts on 19800. I drove on 92 and currently on 87 octane and got the same exact behavior. I see more falling flat on 2-3 shift.
Driving in stop-n-go traffic is getting annoying.
Other night was driving and noticed if in 6th, tc locked, absolute throttle position is limited to 43.9%. Kept pushing slowly and it would not advance, cycling between 40%?? and back to 43.9%

Did you see my post about the exact same issue. Matt replied with a solution that solve my problem. Look one page back.

There is no difference with the shift tables between 19770 and 19800.
    0.00% difference.

If you are seeing a difference in how it shifts it is because of the given throttle angle.
Throttle angle at a given speed will change the shift point, on top of the shift limits for a given speed.

in the end I think the best solution is going to be a 19770 type of build with a 19800 1rst gear throttle map

perfect shifting in every possible situation / rpm / drive speed / throttle angle simply is impossible. We can play with this transmission forever.....

I think that’s what I did. When I couldn’t get it to work last week I unhooked everything and cranked the truck to see if it still worked. When I came back it worked. Must have hit clear dtc before I walked away the first time.

Oooh, I like the way you think.

I’ve been missing the excellent throttle response of 19700 once above 20mph. Town cruising and Texas highways were great.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to ‘suggest’ a throttle map edit, but didn’t want to come across as ‘that guy’. I can only assume you’ve tried it all. I didn’t know if a switch to a logarithmic (yes, log) curve vs linear would help? Or perhaps a linear quadratic that is initially exponential but turns linear after some value?

I don’t know about tuning tables, but I do know a bit about curve fitting and response functions.

Perhaps there’s just not enough resolution in the tables for this approach to work. Or maybe the best method is your empirical hand fitting of the tables to match the desired acceleration.

Keep on keepin’ on Mat! :hattip:

Which I will, now that I've documented the issue. This is a beta, after all - the whole point is to identify issues.

    Did you update pcmflash?

Here are Matt's instructions. Follow them exactly.

    Do this:
First, make sure you have the latest version of pcmflash (if it needs to update then update it. *generally this isn't a problem, but good to try)
Turn your truck on, click CLEAR DTC in pcmflash
    shut the truck off
START THE TRUCK for 1-2 mins
    shut the truck off
    turn the truck on
    try to flash

I think even the exrapolation will work. And I'm being serious. Cause it does make sense why changing one parameter is throwing the whole calibration off from driver's prospective.

...and yes, I did reset values about 250 miles ago...

Perhaps if 'tip in' value was a linear multiple of speed somehow? So zero mph gets the minimum tip in, and the faster you go, the more aggressive tip in gets. It would be linear, with a non-zero intersection, perhaps with a maximum value. I'm sure Mat's got reasons why this theory won't work, but who knows... sometimes you get ideas from the zombies and improve on them. Maybe it's as simple as the 'tip in' calculation can't access speed values, or 'tip in' is hardcoded into tables and that's that.

Mods... can we get an 'I dunno' icon :)

    <edit> here he is.... :notsure:
