PSA: winter-blend gas has arrived. Down 2.5mpg this morning from my average.

I’m down two over the last few days. Was starting to think I got knocked out of alignment or something, your theory makes better sense. Damn

lol. I was driving in this morning thinking I'd lost about 3 mpg because the tune doesn't like the cold. I did fill up yesterday morning. Winter blend makes sense.

No way it’s a ~10% drop due to gas blend. 2% at most.

Air density, engine warm up times, etc etc, contribute far more.

Maybe I’m confusing winter gas with winter itself. Either way, my mpg has been suffering over the past several days as it’s getting colder.

Well mine dropped over last 2 weeks. I get about 19 in the summer and 17.5 in the winter over the last 3yrs so I'm guessing it's the fuel difference. No tune yet. :hattip:

Installed 19800 04b04 (4.88 stock exhaust) last night. Was running 1.05 91 performance before. Really loving the tune so far. Shifting and highway cruise has improved even more and I was already perfectly happy with 1.05.

Looks like the redline on 19800 has dropped to 6,400 or so indicated for me, and I no longer bounce off the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift at WOT.

    EDIT: Gearlock tune, got it.
One strange issue is the truck won't downshift at WOT while ECT is on. Anyone else notice that?

Its a gear lock tune, so with ect on the truck will not down shift regularly...

Would that show up if the accelerator position was plotted against the throttle position? Might need to throw in RPM/VSS and anything else that influences the throttle mapping. Then we can say it is different after some amount of time.

I feel the same way. As the tune "settles", I like it less...

Same, really enjoying the unicorn 19800 91oct 04B04 PCM file.

    @OVTune
Do you recommend re-flashing the latest 19800 04B04 PCM once they are re-released on your beta page? Not sure if you are simply uploading the same PCM file from October 2nd, or made additional changes since then.

Oh, this was on our shop Tundra but I figure this information may be handy here as well. Make sure you flash the truck with the antivirus OFF. I was getting ECU Reprogramming Failed flashing the Tunrda mid-process and was getting worried that I was going to have it send it to Matt to unbrick it. Turns out my antivirus snuck back on. The antivirus itself wasn't throwing up any flags, it was just crashing the flash mid-process. Luckily I didn't turn the truck off with the tune at ~40% flashed.

When in doubt, kill the antivirus completely. An exception for ToyFlash isn't enough

I had an exception set. That's why the AV wasn't throwing any flags. Still acting crazy though.

I mostly wanted to get "ECU Reprogramming Failed" indexed into a search with a solution, because it wasn't yesterday
