Nope. Submitted a ticket on Monday as instructed and still haven't heard anything. This is becoming comical.

If it is an accessory version we will get back to you and everyone else as timely as possible.

Some things to know for everyone with an accessory version handheld.
    1. There is no specific or special tune version that cannot be obtained without it
    2. The options of what can be put on it is 1.05/ 2.0 beta / 2.0 final when released.
    3. Software and firmware updates are being controlled by a 3rd party.

The whole point of these were to get them out to people in preparation for 2.0 final where they can have 2.0 final loaded to it.

But if it's just becoming comical not willing to work with our timeline, let alone the damn software isn't controlled by me, then send it back.

    That goes for anyone.

I am at my edge with some of this. The continual complaints, the continual my tip in is too hot my tip in too cold 3 bears story and the absolute continual BS of customers not reading anything and getting mad at us about it.

To this day I still have Tacoma customers email us in "disappointment about our customer service because they can't figure something out" and I ask if they read the instructions and they say NO they haven't!

I'm one person juggling a newborn, insane paperwork for this building trying to get that done, all the while telling you guys every step of the way.

At this point, accessory handhelds are for use with 2.0 final, when released. If that does work for you, return it.

It will be sent by end of day tomorrow.

Also this is the last forum post I will reply to regarding orders or "can you look at my ticket"

I can't get anything done being on this forum checking posts to bounce back and forth 50 times a day. And if I don't come in here and constantly reply to you guys look what happens.

Effective today we will not be replying to any forum post about order status, ticket status, etc.

Also 19800 files won't be available after tomorrow

    Finally,
I get that waiting is frustrating. I am just as frustrated. I hate waiting on other companies that delay things, because it delays us, and makes us look bad to you. Alientech and their 3rd party sold us a bunch of "ready to go" handhelds that weren't even close to ready and needs individually updated, tested, updated. This is a 1-2 hour process PER device.
I am just asking, practically begging for your understanding that 3rd parties are involved outside of what I can do, and I get 100+ Tacoma related tickets a day.
I will get to you( general)as fast as I am capable of. If waiting is not for you, simply just return it and go elsewhere.

Ok... All due respect but if you want to do this here, that's cool.

You tend to bread crumb your information in several places (here, facebook, website etc..) When the handhelds went on sale, on your website, there wasn't any mention of the following:

-These handhelds were intended for the 2.0 version of the tune and wouldn't be functional on delivery.
-There were no instructions available at the time of purchase or any type of note stating an ETA for the instructions.
-You were still sorting out issues with the vendor / firmware. (This has been eluded to here but never noted at the time of sale.)

In fact, the only note at the time of purchase was there would be a 2 week delay in delivery.

The handhelds (at least the accessory one.) were put up for public purchase over Labor Day weekend and started being delivered around Sept. 18th. On Sept 17th, directly from you:

    "Many many orders leaving today,
Some of you will be receiving handhelds today from last week ship out, see our instructions on it on our site this evening. Also follow the instruction card included!"

    This wasn't the only time...

"I'll have detailed instructions on this available for you guys asap on the product page and email"

"Handheld instructions, updates, pending orders etc are all set to be finished by the end of this month."

These were the only examples I could find with a quick search but I know there are others.

So, you say "But if it's just becoming comical not willing to work with our timeline" I would LOVE to work with your timeline but your timeline is vague and continues to shift. That's what's comical.

What I don't get is that ever since the handhelds went up for public sale, you were well aware that you weren't ready for the release. Even as your "timeline" on the instructions continued to slip and you had your baby, the office move, 2.0 beta etc.. you STILL continued to sell them up to the day you shut your website down. Then, when you get called out because you haven't delivered on your promises, you turn it around on US. You throw your temper tantrum and say "well if you don't like it just get your money back". Then wonder why people don't think your customer service is the greatest??? Really?

Listen, I know you are over extended right now, business is great for you and I'm glad to see it. Your tune has been the best, functional mod I've done to my truck hands down. It also seems that you are trying to remedy the situation to make life easier. What I won't stand for is expecting to get a working product for the money I spent and have the company tell me it's my fault when I question them on it.

Do I want my money back? No.
Do your customers who have paid for the handhelds deserve better communication and a solid timeline: Yes.
Will I anger some folks here and possibly be banned from this thread and/or TW?: Maybe.

Actually not, we put them as out of stock after we found out about the required software update and delay as a result of that,
All delays from that point has been because of continual waiting on alientech.
I hand tested them on my truck, ensured it worked, etc before they were sold. You can even ask Openflash.
Right after that this whole fiasco of stupid software protocol updates became necessary, and the slips in updates have come because of that.

Like I said I understand the current frustration and am doing everything I can to get it resolved. I want to resolve it on alientech side before posting instructions, files, etc, that was all suppose to already be done by now.

He has said numerous times he was waiting on third party vendors, but you didn't bother to search that.

If I never hear "tip-in" again it will be too soon. I actually forgot I changed from 1.05 to 19800 yesterday afternoon and didn't even notice any change in, let's call it "throttle feel" on the drive home. The Goldilocks comparison is a good one as every tune you've made from the beginning has been such a vast improvement over the stock garbage, and each one only gets better.

This thread has obviously sold a ton of tunes, but it's also given your customers a place to put a wish list or a preference list for every single aspect of your tunes. Double-edged sword I guess. If I have any criticism it's that sometimes information, updates, and instructions on tunes is spread out between here, your blog, and instructions. But all the information is there between those locations.

Congratulations on your newborn, I hope you can find a balance between your personal life and work

To be fair, this thread is currently 2669 pages long and searching for any concrete information in it is a HUGE pita.

Would it be possible to run the 91 octane tune with 89 octane fuel?

I don’t have a HH and I’m still a dongle guy on 1.03 waiting to update my ECU so I can try the 2.0 beta. I understand many are frustrated at the (I can’t have it now) issue. Just wish everyone could settle down and let things progress. He’s making a great product and going through lots of growing pains and I hope once the new building gets settled and the efficiency of getting things done in a quicker time frame that these issues get resolved. I knew coming in early that this would be a long process and I willingly accepted that and hope everyone else can too.
Looking forward to great things with these new developments on our trucks.
I’m still way better then stock..!!!
Hope everyone has a great day.

You can do whatever you want, it's your truck. I would personally recommend running the octane that tune calls for so it doesn't do weird things, like blow a piston through the block.

When I know I'll be in an area with limited fuel availability I flash the 87 tune just to be safe.

Of course it will run.. will it mess up your truck? Entirely possible. The octane on your fuel is your knock resistance rating. The higher the octane the less prone to knock (pre-detonation) it is. Higher octane allows the engine to be pushed further without fear of knock. So yes it will run. No you shouldn’t do it unless you want a blown engine.

Generally no, officially no. Unless you are in high altitude, but even then, I personally wouldn't risk it.
