Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

@OVTune for us MT folk, will we have the ability to select whichever map is our default? Or just flash one map without map switching function? There are those of us who intend to just run FO and that's it, and I personally would like to not have to map switch every time I turn the truck on if it doesn't stay on it.

 

And what does this post solve other than you acting like it's all about me! These statements always start everytime OVtune doesn't meets your timeline not Mats. Can we just sit back for once act like adults and not start all the BS just once!

Can't wait to see how the 4.88 release performs. Pretty sure the 5.29 gang is ready for their own release too.

 

S mode puts you into GL - no ECT button required to enable.

Kind on like having Four options - Maps as you noted and then GL by simply shifting over to S-Mode. Map 3 is for towing.

 

When is this going to be released? Thats the real question? Love OVtune! We need decals bro so we can promote your great product.

That's what I figured too just wondering if it will gear lock into 4th as it is now or will it lock into whatever gear you are running in D. That would be cool.

 

How does someone read a article that is so important to them and not be able to answer that question? I guess Mat should put at the beginning, the middle and the end, lol!

 

He’s always said that gearlock will be optional, some simply want to put it in S and tow and not pretend like they bought a manual. I would expect separate tunes as we’ve always received.

All questions above are great. I’m hoping map 3, ect and S, doesn’t need to be manually shifted.

It was explained that you put the shifter in S mode and it’s gear lock. Period. That’s all.

 

so it looks like the 3 way AT tune has 4 options:

D: default drive mode
D + ECT: performance drive mode
S + ECT: gear lock tow mode
S: gear lock mode (Assumed)

Flash Manager is being updated?
Dongles are being phased out to FM?
Handhelds will have to wait until Christmas for a tune (2.0)?
2.0 tunes, for both FM and Handhelds, will be available around Christmas for OEM gearing, 4:88's and 5:29's (hopefully)?

Please confirm all tunes will have gearlock? Or, will there be a non-gearlock option?
Also, all tunes will have octane learning?

Thank you Mat. So if you’re in D in 5th or 6th and switch to S will it downshift and lock into 4th or stay in 5/6 and lock?

Hey Mat, have you considered doing a biweekly google hangout or some other online interactive platform where you could spend an hour live answering questions or other concerns? You might need somebody to clear questions and feed them to you so as to avoid repetitiveness. Just a thought.

In one of my home automation forums one of the gurus does this once in a while.

Ive used several of these tunes and never paid much attention to which ones do it or dont but most of them, if I am in gearlock, not in fourth, it would shift into whatever gear I was in. Is that not common?

 

Put me down as one of the people waiting patiently for the 5.29 version.

but currently love the 4.88 version of 2.0 04B04.

 

Haven't thought about it but I'll consider it.

Also for folks with tickets ( for any reason ) I'll be crunching through them before we reopen next week
