Huh, I never tried ETC after I originally tuned to 93GLperf as I could have sworn it says it no longer down shifts when on. Well what use is that? You have to slow down eventually, I'm not going to keep turning it on and off. So that trained me not to use it after I jumped to the 19800 2.0 91perf tune and I havent even tried turning it on since. I thought 99.99999% of the reason for the tune was to make the truck shift points correct and improve drivability? It's not like it increases power by an astronomical amount. I bought it to fix the trans shift map, not for the 20hp you cant feel lol. So am I wrong in saying that if the tune is correct......the ETC button is now redundant?

actually it does downshift your transmission to keep the truck from lugging, some where around 1200-1500 rpm.

It is intended to keep the truck in what ever gear you select without unnecessarily downshifting like the stock tune.

Never had any issues with trans/shifting/engine on stock. ECT comes on when I start up so there's no turning it off/on for me.

1.05.1 / 93 perf / ECT is exactly where I like it, no complaints at all with this setup. No GL in the early tunes, I've been on the tune since he got here and have tried them all. I'll give the new one a shot when he's done and see what I think. Mat has always stated: "stick with the tune you like best, don't keep it just because it's the latest release".

Does anyone have videos of adaptive cruise control with the tune?

The adaptive cruise control mode still utilizes stock factory programming. You need to switch to standard cruise control mode in order to take advantage of the OVtune programming with CC.

Hold down the cruise button for 2-3 seconds to turn the adaptive off and use "regular" cruise

Is there any risk associated with getting this tune? Long term? I'm not looking for more HP but just a better driving truck. I'm pretty risk adverse so just making sure a 700$ mod isn't going to turn into a $7000 fix. This being said, 0-60 tests at every stoplight will be my norm on my daily commute.

Ive been running the tune for about 45k miles over years now and have had zero issues related it so far. There are others of us in the "OG Dongle Crew" which was the very first incarnation of the tune and no one has reported anything to this thread that I can remember that Mat has not addressed.

where are people getting the 2.0 beta at? I see it in Flash manager but when i try to download it give me an error.

i’m on day 2 of tune (60miles) and i’m loving it. Currently on 87 Base 1.05 and it is night and day difference in the way the truck drives. Punch it and no more lag. I’m glad I purchased it. Can’t wait to see what 93 Performance does.

Awesome. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the response. Are you running the 1.05 version now?

2.0 beta build 0944 for 4.88 gears with 87 octane and gear lock. I know that sounds like a lot of words, but the 2.0 final which Mat said should drop by xmas, will be what everyone will want to be on

...also, save from the 2-0-public page to your hard drive.
Open Flash Manager and set at 1.05, NOT 2.0.
Open your flash utility and find where you saved the tune.

It is quite intimidating to be honest. I'm looking for better mpg and just a better driving truck at the end of the day. A lift or anything else is highly unlikely in my future if it doesn't serve a practical purpose for getting me to and from work and other paved weekend adventures haha. Knowing this, is this still something you'd recommend?

The original purpose of this tune was to improve driveability. Since he has fixed that, now we are getting all kinds of options like performance tunes, base mpg type tunes, tunes with features like gear locking and even more to come soon. If you dont like the stock drivability, then you should get this and can run the base tune for 87 octane. You could also run the 93 performance tune and feel the POWAH! Your choice. Thats the luxury we have now
