Where are you? It's not too bad to do yourself if you want to.

I’m always down to tinker. This is my first Toyota, but coming from the Audi world you needed a $300 cable to reprogram the car

VCDS is worth it though. You have the Tactrix cable and here's the software \/\/\/\/\/, Go wild!

100% worth it, nothing like getting factory hidden features for free. Bomb.com, so my OVTune cable is essentially like VCDS for the taco?

Yes. The tactrix cable can be used with techstream no problem

I’ve asked Mat multiple times via Zendesk with no response, so I’ll ask you guys instead. I assume that the ECU file I read from my truck and sent to Mat when first registering my license *is* my stock Toyota tune file, correct? So if I want to flash back to stock I can just use that file?

I don’t think the whole ecu file is read, only the file version (could be wrong here so wait for confirmation). But, flash manager should have the stock file for your original calibration and you can use that file if you haven’t had any tsb’s applied.

Thanks. It’s a 2020 with no TSBs applied. I’ll check it out. Appreciate the info.

No bueno. Flash Manager doesn’t have anything for the 2020 yet. AFAIK the only files Mat’s released for it are the 2.0 19800 beta tunes, which are direct downloads not done through FM.

So, I guess I’ll try Zendesk again to see if I can get a copy of my stock tune.

It's been a couple of years since I did this but I was able to make a copy of the existing stock tune before writing the tune. (But mines a 2016)

Edit: I know once the tune is applied, you cannot read the file, to protect his IP. But before the tune, I believe you can.

Pretty sure he'll add it to the app. He has for all the other versions.

Eventually I’m sure. Doesn’t help me now though.

Sort-of. Techstream allows some customization, but nothing like the coding you can do with VCDS.

I'll send you the stock file in the morning if you need it.

Thanks Mat! Please do. Happy Holidays, and I hope that arm of your heals quickly!

With Mats recent injury, the holidays, and the OVtune shop being closed, does anyone know if they are still sending out Tunes?
