I flashed the 2.0 19800 when it was released and it completely fixed the TC shudder that was partially fixed with 1.05.1. I’m staying on this beta until the final 2.0 is released. No issues.

Got 5k on the 91perf tune.
4k of it straight highway(Mass to Texas, and back).
    Messed with ECT...
Tip in is a touch, touchy... but, okay(Ect).
I am DYING to do 2.0, with single shift tables. The biggest thing I hate about this truck is the damn transmission calibration. Short shift, lug, drop gear, then hunt back and forth...

Isn’t that with gearlock in ECT?

Didnt use the gearlock tune. Just the regular.

I love the paddle shifters in my charger. And I may give it a shot at some point, but, this slush box will never shift like my programmed NAG1 in my charger, so, it wont be as amusing...
If it was instant, and firm, I would be all over it.

Good to know. I would try it but it's really icy around here. How touchy is the throttle on 19800?

Well...yah...paddle shifters on a Taco would be whack. Adding paddle shifters to my Taco would be the equivalent of me turning vegan :bananadead:

Plus a charger is a car.

19800 softened up the tip in. Handles take off on our icy streets really well.
I’ve got about 1800 miles on this tune and it keeps getting better.

I’ve got the same thing going on A61, stock, and tuned. Wonder if this is where the infamous shudder has been coming from all along?

I wish I knew, that is my only real dislike of the truck. I’m not sure Toyota knows either. Some trucks seem to do it some don’t. I spoke with another 2018 owner he said his was very smooth, no shudder at all.

My A61 had the shudder on stock and 1.05. 1.05.1 fixed most of it. However, after flashing 2.0 19800 the shudder is gone. Toyota should talk to @OVTune. Mat knows what’s causing it and how to fix it.

OMG, I'm so glad to hear that. They must live where there isn't a hint of a hill. Colorado is nothing but hills, and this truck doesn't make enough power under 2k to get out of it's own way. There are intersections with a hill on the other side where I have to start in S2 and manually upshift to make sure I can keep up with traffic. Otherwise it would try to shift up to 4th and lug its way up the hill, then do the down/up/down/up dance after I floor it.

Can't wait for 2.0 final, then I can figure out if a supercharger or 5.29 gears are next.

5.29 gears are a must. Truck saver. Did more for the truck than any of the tunes. Gear hunting gone at higher speeds, and I’m on 35s. 3rd gear shift point still weird but that seems to be across the board.

Really really looking forward to 2.0, 5.29 tune. Oh and maybe....maybe turbos.

There are so many little shifting/power issues these trucks have that I don’t think all these companies coming out with super chargers are ready for. Mat is the only one that understands what’s actually up with these trucks. So as far as tuning, and FI goes, Mat is the only dude I’d consider trusting.

Gears on the other hand are a proven improvement regardless of power or tune. 5.29s don’t gear hunt on OVtune, or stock tune, money well spent.

I just traveled 16 hours (on 19800 2.0 beta) only shifted into 5th like 4 or 5 times total on the entire trip, 4th maybe once or twice on really steep hills. Got very reasonable mileage too. And yes lifted and 35s. Gears are priceless.

The only thing I don't agree with is if the 2,000 rpm shift still applies if your just lightly cruising around town then it seems like the truck is holding that gear too high if your at 1,900 rpm speed. Then it drops into the next gear with a bump. I think some of the betas are really close to being perfect but I know Matt is going to do it his way this time, excited to see the results.

I hope the shudder is gone with 2.0 final. If not I think I'm getting a tundra.....
