I don't get why anyone would want to do this.

Question, I've searched this thread for a bit and not having luck so I figured i'd ask. I havn't got my cable yet as I just purchased but getting things ready to flash in the meantime. I just installed Flash manager and got my reg key from Matt. I made sure I installed the driver. When I open p5flash utility, under interface I don't have the option yet for the Tactrix Cable even though I've installed the drivers. Is this normal? will it show up once I get the cable and plug in or is something not installed properly?

It won't show up until you plug it in.

thank you sir! Just threw me off my other cable was showing up. Even when it wasn’t plugged in so I thought I’d ask. Figuring out these computer issues sometimes takes quite some time so wanted to sort it all out before the cable comes!

They don't understand what either the tune or the throttle devices do and think more is better.

Did you install the drivers using Flash Manager? Under tuning the first option is to install the OVtune cable drivers.

yes sir! Tried it twice. do you think it will show up soon as I plug it in?

Tried to flash 04b31 2.0 beta 87 octane 4.88 tune and Stock Tune on my 2019 with MiniVCI cable. I hear the click about 3 seconds in and get Tune Unsuccessful. Guess I gotta wait for the Tactrix Cable.

anyone done a successful tune with the MiniVCI? it's a legit cable that works great with Techstream. It sounds like it wants to and was able to Identify ECU fine with it using flash utility.

If it's one of those cables you can get on eBay for under $20 I would advise against using it. They are cheap Chinese clones and they have been known to cause issues including bricked ecus.

I highly recommend waiting for the Tactrix cable.

It's not the cheap ebay one. It's legit. Seems to do everything else fine but flash the tune. I deffinately will wait. Thank you

It’s really not as hard as some make it out to be. There’s also the handheld which is the easy button solution you are looking for.

@OVTune has the Tactrix cable manufactured specifically for this tune kit. If you use a different cable and run into problems you might be on your own. Just sayin’

Is there an ETA on 2.0? I’ve been running the beta since it was released and I’m getting anxious.

Mat has stated in the past that his Tactrix cable is designed specifically with the OBD unit for these tunes. Others will not work

Something is coming out the end of the month. I don’t believe it was ever specified if it was final or another beta revision
