Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Question, if I got to a dealer and get a firmware update from xxx02 to xxx04 with the tune for xxx02 still loaded up, will that be an issue? Like, I wanna have a dealer do the firmware update, and then take it home and change the tune.

You could do it yourself. It’s quick and easy.

Trying to avoid spending $170 on the tactrix cable ya know as long as they'll do it under warranty.

Also the TechStream download link is locked down. And I don't know who owns it. I requested to have access permissions to the Google Drive folder.

 

Its still unclear if this is 2.0 Final or just another iteration of the Beta. @OVTune can you clarify?

I tried searching out all the places that I posted and either made note to use my signature link or updated the link. It seems that one or two have survived.

 

I got a cheap ass one from China...worked for me, flawlessly. Only thing is that it took a couple of weeks to arrive.

Pretty sure there’s like 12 people in SD that could do it for you too. There was a list floating around somewhere

Yeah, I was nervous using it the first time well aware of the risk associated with Chinese knock offs, but it worked just fine.

 

The dealer update will flash over whatever is there. When it’s completed you'll be on stock xxx04. Take it home and flash the OV tune.

 

Some things are worth paying the price for quality.

 

agree with you. There’s nothing there that goes in to any detail except that the S mode gear lock will not be tied in to ECT. I’m sure everyone is curious to know if Mat could give us some details as to what all of the changes will be.

 

I will provide more details on release. If I do now it's just going to stir up more questions.
