Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Thank you for pointing this out. They should not be able to be downloaded, and will get this fixed immediately.
This is actually part of the reason we are going with our own server.


Edit ** I just double checked and these files are not on our server so I have no idea how you are able to download them.

 

Why on earth should I have to come to a Tacoma forum to read about a critical and potentially disastrous flaw in programming from an aftermarket supplier? You'd think the manufacturer would put that information on their own website and their own program to tune the truck.

If you think burying this problem in a 3000 page thread is proper disclosure of a flaw this severe you're daft.

But alas, that's what I had to do, and it's my fault for believing that the tune would come out when first stated and thinking I could wait it out.

 

I'm not kidding, or trolling, or lying. I JUST did it. If there is any way I can help in any way diagnosing the problem so others don't have the same experience I did I am more than glad to be of assistance.

First, this "flaw" does not affect every truck, and we have only narrowed down some tables that affect it, but it doesn't affect other trucks using these same tuned tables.
At the same time, the 2019 trucks have had recall problems with the cruise control and faulty throttlebodies from Toyota. I have several email reports from 2019 owners that had faulty throttles, and these same faulty throttles on the 4Runner. It also does not happen on every truck, and we removed the tunes that people were using when they reported the error to us. This doesn't happen to all 2019s, only a handful actually.

Continually calling me a liar isn't going to get you anywhere. If you are having issues, concerns, questions, need help, etc. Contact us through the proper channels and we will do everything we can to solve it.

 

Yeah, except 1.05 is the STABLE BRANCH. That's the tune that has the flaw.

I don't know how you are even downloading them, the files are completely removed from the AWS server.
This is exactly why we are getting our own server.

FWIW, unless something changed in the last 30 minutes, I get an error when trying to download those files.. for 04B30 or 04B31

 

You may need to use your fingers to help, but what comes first, 1.05.1 or 2.0.

Delays and bugs happen. I agree that having to follow this thread is beyond terrible -- it's an absolute dumpster fire -- so full disclosure for everything via email would probably be the best approach; along with displaying the information front and center on the website, of course.

The delay of Cyberpunk 2077 this year was even more painful IMO. Such is life.

I get the "error downloading file" notification now.

If just one poor sod doesn't come to a screeching halt on an on ramp after tuning their truck as a result of me throwing my toys out of the pram I will consider my job done and patiently wait for 2.X release.

 

I have checked the list 5 times and they are not there.
Try deleting the files and redownloading them. I don't know how you're downloading them.

He clearly thought I was trolling him, as he stated earlier. I wanted to emphasize the fact that I was in fact serious and wanted to help. No point in complaining if I'm not willing to do what I can to help resolve the issue I'm having now is there.

 

I guess there should be some way on the back end to see if any files with those specific file names were transferred today?
