Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Just sent feedback on 04B04+-+2.0+Build+25600+AFP1+TQ0+91.p5f to zendesk.

My opinion is that the throttle, from a stand still, is too twitchy and unpredictable. I went running back to 04B04+-+2.0+EROM+91+-+Shift+Build+19800.p5f

Curious to hear others opinions on this.

 

Gonna load it when I get home from work in a few hours.

Playing catch up with this thread and I didn't see/missed a reply to this issue. Grab your key FOB, turn it on its side/edge, and look for a button with the word PRESS and a key symbol etched into it. Push that button and a physical backup key will be ejected from the FOB.

1. Push button start the vehicle normally

2. Push the button on the side of the FOB and remove the physical key

3. Leave the FOB inside the vehicle

4. Exit the vehicle, shut the drivers door, and lock it with the physical key. The drivers door being locked should engage the locks on all the doors, if it doesn't then you may need to dive into the vehicle settings menu.



I do this in the summer for my dog when I run into a store and have to leave her in the vehicle with the AC running.

 

Does this trick disable the Auto Unlock when grabbing the door handle?

Since your fob is inside the truck, I’d think it would be close enough in proxmity to enable said feature to just unlock.

 

I also thought of that, tried it, and it does disable it. How bad would it suck to get car jacked at a red light because the door would always unlock when the guy outside the vehicle with a crowbar touches the handle lol

 

I leave the key in my pocket. Lock the door with my key-fob key and leave the truck running for my dog. No reason to leave the Fob. The doors lock with the key and the truck stays running.

 

I was pretty sure I tried that when I was trying to figure out how to do it and it wouldn't stay locked without the FOB in the vehicle. But I will try that next time. May have gotten it confused because I started out by playing with the door lock buttons and there was something about the door lock and the FOB being moved that wasn't working for me. May have just overlooked that simpler way.

..and meanwhile I will load the BETA not knowing if ECT enforces GL or not (hoping not) cause my ask (and even another members) is buried. I didn't see it state it doesn't but

 

The 5.29 file that I got does not gearlock in S/ECT.

 

ECT does engage gearlock with all 2.0 beta files. It engages in BOTH sport mode and drive mode.

So ECT does not add power or change tuning as of now in 2.0 beta. Only engages gearlock.

 

Tow mode then. Have you tried s mode no ect to see if it is gl?

 

No, I assumed it would take both being engaged. Just played very quickly on my 0.5 miles drive to lunch to see if it was GL. I will try S/NO ECT on my way home.

 

I dont believe these are the typical betas that we have been getting. I think they are much closer to the finished product and may function differently from earlier betas.

It may. I didnt try it without ECT which is apparently how the final iteration will work.

It happens way too often. Idling vehicle dies and dog dies or if A/C quits working.

 

I can’t wait to never come back on this forum. Whether it be the tune is awesome or I just sell my damn truck

 

How many miles did you have on the tune when you posted this?

Did you reset your learned values?
