You say that like it's a bad thing, yes it is more work and time for Mat,the end result is we get a better product. I applaud Mat for all the hard work he is doing to make this the best that it can be.

    ok confirmed,
    we have gear control
    differential control
    tire size control.

However, the diff and tire size control is not for speedo correction. It's for calculating accurate shift points.

6MT ECU has gear size and diff size but tire size is set to "0" because ECU does not need to calculate shifts.

    good news:
simply differential and tire size setting changes in tunes will make all shifting accurate
    bad news:
not a fix for speedo. Investigating further.

@OVTune. I left a zendesk message late last night. I am having issues with my tuning laptop. Planning on putting in a new hard drive. If I can successfully clone the old hard drive, will I have any issues with reg key?

Crap. I'm hoping that you'll be able to find a way to make this work, Mat. That would be GREAT! As of now, the only known solution for this is HyperTech, which doesn't support the 2019 and 2020 model years. They've told me they may or may not support newer Tacomas, and have no ETA on when/if they will. If you can fill that hole somehow with the tune, it would be AWESOME! I realize it's probably not a priority item, but please keep us posted. Good luck!

When the new tune update is finished there will be base tunes and performance tunes like in 1.05 correct? What I want to know is if there will be performance tunes for the new update, but with a less aggressive throttle response? I've tried the performance tunes for 1.05 and I like them, but I just can't deal with how sensitive the throttle is at slow crawling speeds, parking lots, drive thrus, slow heavy traffic, etc. It starts stumbling from the sensitivity.

How will you incorporate the specific gearing/tire size into the tunes? is this something that we will be able to change on the computer before we flash the tune, or will you have a tune that is specific to our exact truck? For example, I would need one for a 2019 AT, 04B31, 8.75" diff, 5.29 gears, and 285s. How will this much specificity (flashback to inception movie scene) be applied?

So when I place my order, do I download the software, send my codes and then wait to flash once 2.0 is released?

Place order, watch video on his page. It shows you step by step how to get info needed. Soon as you get that info email OVTune (also on website and video) all your required registration info. Registration key will be sent in email before your package arrives to install the tune. Then you can install 2.0 beta and play with it until 2.0 final is released.

You have a 2019 according to your profile so just be aware there are two minor issues in the beta. One is minor that causes 3rd to 4th gear shift to happen early. Say if you’re accelerating moderately and it shifts at 2500 rpm each gear. Soon as you hit third gear it’ll shift about 600-700 rpm early than expected and accelerate slower than anticipated.

Other glitch is at wide open throttle. I only experience this from 2nd to 3rd but have experienced it from 3rd to 4th while passing. The truck will seem to pause and then the rev limiter will kick in. All acceleration will deplete temporarily and then fire back up a second later. Just make sure you’re aware of this because it’s easily avoidable in passing situations not to go to redline but will make you very nervous if you pass and see a car coming your way in the passing lane.

Am I able to download everything but wait to install the 2.0 final? Theres not a time period before my registration key expires, correct?

Registration never expires. You can do absolutely everything you want and need to do after order is placed. Heck you can even do it now before your order is placed. Watch video and see what to do. The registration is registering your laptop and requires no cables.

You can view his public tune page to download all the betas that match your ecu but that has to be done after you get the hardware. The laptop software can’t read the ecu Id without being connected to the truck.
