Our saab had a live clutch from the factory as did my Ural. I did a minor hack on my Ducati to make it live, which was helpful on a few occasions when I had to load it on to my trailer.

Being a goof most of the time, I have yet to screw this up. I think the MT crowd can handle it.

What if we just not have map-switching? Lol I know Mat wants to make it happen but it's also not something he needs to bend over backwards for.

Idgaf about map switching and it wouldn't kill anyone to just commit to a map. If they need to flash something else, they can flash something else.

 

You need to run the flash manager. When you have your truck ACC ignition on, theres a button you hit that will pull all the ECU information down, including the ECU version.

 

Switching is definitely icing on the cake, but at this point, I am happy with the cake.

Although, I would think that map switching would mean that there are a lot less tune files that OVT would have to publish?

If he has to publish less by publishing pre-selected map bundles, then people would still have to flash map bundles whenever they wanted to run a map that wasn't in that bundle, so nothing really changes if the end user can't select what maps they wanted to be able to swap through on the fly.

I think map switching is unnecessary personally. Hell, if I end up with the option to not use it, I'll be happier lol whenever 2.0 final drops, I will prefer to just grab the FO map and call it a day, nothing else.

 

isn't it manufacturer specific? my 35s say they are 34.8 on their specs, I know tread depth etc comes into play.

That seems like a lot of assumption, esp with all the (unknown) changes coming with 2.0 and FM. At least for us MTs, we know there are only two tunes, Base and Tow / FOB. I wouldn't mind Base if it bumped up the MPGs on long trips (rare for me). Otherwise, an FOB default makes day to day driving pretty damn sweet.

 

AGREE 100% Separate down loads with the tire option. 90 % of people are going to find a tune they like and leave it on that one.

 

i really like this idea as well. Hell it's toyota's OEM method for alternate shift point map so it just seems to make sense. seems to be the best way to do it for automatic and have a separate solution for MT guys

if it is adopted into the CC controls how will that work did i miss it?
