Yea but the 1.5 worked fun it said run or something. Now when I select this one it says windows can’t open this file. Then there are options to use a web service to find the correct program or select a program from the list of installed ones and neither of them work

.pcm is for dongle users (Early buyers)

Use flash manager, do the tuning steps, but when you get to the part to select the tune, go to the folder you have 2.0 downloaded in
Can't just double click the file, need to use flash mgr to do it

we all start at the same point. Then we eventually figure it out. Mat @OVTune may be the only one who never had an issue flashing his tunes to an ecu. Or may be not!?? Welcome to the OVTune group.

OK so I did a rash thing without asking tons of questions and harassing everyone so I want to make sure that I dun gud.

I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma that came with the 04B03. I had been running OVTune I think 1.03 version 91 octane and hadn't been paying attention to developments. Last night I *THOUGHT* I got up to date.

So last night I had installed what I thought to be the latest version 1.05. Come to find out there's some scary brake override malfunction that freaked me out. Then calmed a bit when it was apparently for 2019 Tacomas. Then, come to find out there's a 2.0 beta... but it requires 04B04.

And to my surprise I found out I could update my truck to that ECU...er calibration?

Sooooo... I got the Techstream software from some random search of this thread and the TSB 62-18 cuw.zip file I found from some random search of this thread. Double clicked "T-0034-18.cuw" which I found from some random search from this thread (impulsive, I know).

I've been running the 91 octane performance. I've done NOTHING to my truck other than smaller wheels with bigger tires (31" I believe). I went to the OVTune 2.0 Beta page and wanted to find the closest (CORRECT) file to flash my truck with so I landed on: Dongle Version (yes I got a little dongle :( ) -> 91 octane -> Stock Exhaust:https://ovtune.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/Build+19800+Full/pcm+files/04B04+2.0B+91+Octane.pcm

The truck SEEMS to have flashed. I never got any errors. There were a few choices along the way that I had to guess myself through (Tactrix something something as the connector to the truck?) It started up fine. It drives. Seemingly no errors despite my reckless behavior. But... just to be sure... did I pick everything right? Is there a better 2.0 beta file I could have picked? I don't know what 4.88 means. I don't know what decatted dump tube means. I don't know what catted dump tube means. Do those all require modifications physically to the truck? Is there a "more performance" tune I could've tried? Is there any known brake override / explode on the street / truck shuts down / ANYTHING safety critical that anyone has experienced with this setup that I need to be aware of?

Finally, is there more information about what the difference between 04B04 vs 04B03? What does "BETA" mean in terms of features missing/not perfected? I'll read more thoroughly... don't flame me too bad. Searching this size of a thread is a beast of a task and someone may search and find this post to get updated on the gist of the current state of things, so I hope it serves as a help to others.

It seems like you found your way unlike many that post here kudo's on that alone. If you got a "flash successful" message followed by a turn off ignition message you flashed correctly. The 2.0 beta is the latest tune available at the moment and you picked the right one for your truck. The catted/decatted files are for the guys that have the OVTune dump tubes the others are for those that have different gears 4:88/5:26 ect.. The 91 tune you picked is the "performance" tune at this time. You are safe driving that tune, the brake override/shutdown is only for the 19's.

The 04B03/04B04 is just the factory update to the ecu software. BETA means the same as it does in the rest of the software world, still in development and undergoing testing and an incomplete product.

Hey has anyone had a problem with toyflash crashing when trying to read or flash your truck? Maybe I didn’t download something correct? Any help would be appreciated
