You might want to check with @OVTune if this is an option:

I will not get rid of my dongle unless OVT require it. Having the flexibility to switch laptop (I do this a lot) without needing a new reg key is very nice.

    Let's try that again:

This was posted around the time that @OVTune stopped selling licenses for the non-OVT Tactrix, so this option might have changed.

slightly different topic, but wasn't there chatter that @OVTune was working directly with Toyota as far as tuning for the Tacoma and Tundra? If so, what ever happened to that?

I remember those discussions few months back. Again, not getting rid of the dongle unless it is required for new tunes. I think OVT will release .bin/.hex and .p5f for 2.0 final, just no .bin/.hex for todays limited test. That's OK, I'll put my dongle back in the pouch, impatiently wait for the public 2.0 release.

I can do 1, 3, and 6. Might also have some time for dyno testing if you need.

Pretty sure he had a NDA and couldn't speak on it.

If I were to speculate I would say that it was Toyota's legal dept probing to find out exactly what he was doing with their proprietary information. Once they saw what he was doing they made him sign the NDA.

I would hope that they would be open to a collaboration with him to provide improved tuning on new projects or maybe even offer a Toyota/TRD endorsed tuning product.

During or soon after 1.04 release, Mat mentioned that Toyota saw his code and asked Mat to help them to tune Camry for some endurance racing or something.
I'm sure latest breakthroughs are the fruits of the collaboration.

First time trying install OV Tune and searched all over this thread without any luck with my specific problem.
On the Flash Manager I don't see a drop down option on the 2017's for 04B02 which is what I currently have. I did see 04B02 for 2016's. Is it safe for me to flash as a 2016 under 04B02 even though I have a 2017? Tried to get a TSB update from the dealer but they claim my VIN didn't require it. I've read about Techstream but would like to avoid if possible.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes, as long as the revision matches you are fine.

#1 your dealer lied to you. All of the 2016-2017 trucks are eligible for the shifting improvements update that would move your ECU to 04B04. #2, it is easier to follow the instructions from further back in the thread and update to 04b04 yourself using techstream. Mat has said several times that moving to 04B04 will make for a better experience with the OVTune anyway.
