Mat do you need to have ver 1.02a/b installed for the new ECU files will work properly, or are they stand alone and will work on a clean install?

You will be receiving 6 files:
1.02C shift A All gear shift
1.02C shift B Gears 1-4 shift change
1.02C shift C Gears 2-5 shift change
and 87 octane tunes to match


all of these files are for the ECM
none go to the TCU (which you should have already updated on base 1.02A/B files)

Yes, what he said. And more specifically, will it work on a clean install whether the ECU is 04B01, 04B02 or 04B03? I thought I understood this matter, but now I'm confused once again.

But I am a 04B02 guy WITHOUT a base 1.02A/B tune, and I was not sent a TCU file.

Was 04B02 upgraded by Mat to 04B03, or was a TCU file forgotten? It is no longer clear.

I never received a TCU file I'm assuming it's all ECU only.

I haven't received the files yet (I think I was missed). But as a NEW user, I'm not clear on this part either.

 

I believe 04B02 and 04B03 refers to the Version of the ECU hardware nothing to do with software update.

 

Yes. All maps he sent out today were ECU only. No gearbox files.

Got about 40miles on 1.02C A, but not making any conclusions yet...

 

The statement that's underlined in OVT's post quoted below is what is causing confusion/concern to NEW users that have no prior tunes installed...
