If you go backwards in performance without deleting learned values (LV) Essentially you’ll be making your truck “de-tune” itself. Think of it this way, you’d never run low grade fuel in an engine that was built to run on alcohol.. The engine would not be happy! But Going the other way and running some 93 octane fuel in your Vespa would be a non issue. That’s the best analogy I can come up with.

Please note, I was able to flash this tune no problem (thanks Mat!). Here's my experience (a couple bullet points):

    • Windows Defender "Real Time Protection" turned Off,
    • "Run (OVTune Flash Manager) as Administrator",
    • "Update"
    • Download your specific tune, but, it goes to a new(er) OVTuned flash manager folder (compared to the previous 1.05 folder): C:\Users\YourName\OVTuned FlashManager\tunes\2.0,
    • In my case, prior to flashing, I had to disconnect and re-connect the USB plug to "renew" the connection (listening for the USB "chime", my connection may have disconnected/timed-out),
    • Select "Flash It!", you'll need to search for the specific folder to pick the new tune: C:\Users\YourName\OVTuned Flash Manager\tunes\2.0\sid_04B31_2.0_Reg_Beta4.88.p5f (for my tune specific for regular octane 4:88 gears).
    • Turn off ignition (when prompted),
    • Prior to resetting LV and AT (after programming the "tune", turn ignition to "on"), I had to disconnect and re-connect the USB plug (again, listening for the USB "chime"),
    • Reset LV and AT.
    • Tune complete.
    (other's experience may vary)

Is there a place to access tunes for a 2020?
I can only find the 2.0 beta. I would like the 1.05.1 versions.
I would also like to have a stock that I can keep on file.

Nothing downloads using the Flash Manager (v1.3.5). It just returns an "error downloading" message at the bottom.

Does anyone have the Techstream steps on how to change blinker/seatbelt chime? I have seen where it shows "3" in the box but couldn't change it. Anyone bored to death from lockdown and can help would be greatly appreciated! tried a few times over the weekend....:annoyed:

Took me a while to figure it out, but I eventually got it to work. Seems like it was a bunch of "double-clicks" and an "Apply". The changes are Highlighted to show what the "Apply" will change. I need to be connected to the truck to really job my memory - if I get a chance; I'll try to take a screen shot tonight.

There was also a PDF floating around, if I come across the link; then I'll post it as well. I'm sure I found it in from something @tonered, @lapoltba, or @Shellshock had available.

I wonder if their is an adjustment through Techstream to decrease or increase the sensitivity of the auto high beam feature? :spy:

Attached is the old list of what can be done.

But yeah. Connect with TS, change the setting that you want, and apply it. One at a time.

No chimes for me, other than the key chime that can't be disabled, and 6 blinks.

Here's a great post showing the customizations screens. TS V14 on a 2020, nonetheless:

first thing I've done on nearly all my vehicles is turn off the stupid chimes. Otherwise you end up with a laptop bag on the passenger seat going DING DING DING DING DING DING DING

I reset all values so it was a bit frantic this morning but by the end of my 30 mile commute I was liking what I was seeing. Much more consistent in it's behavior.

Even though the PCFlash utility indicates ECU calibration 04B04 the dropdown in Flashmanager shows 04B02. How does this get updated?

yep thats what happens when you reset all values. It'll be weird for 30-50 miles while the values get set.

This is also why people should only do LV resets when they are having some issues and not every time (without understanding the effects of doing a reset)... people will do resets drive 5 miles and be like this thing runs like crap. well yeah... you reset all the baselines and it hasn't figured them out yet..

Just made a 30 mile run to different stores. Everything still great. Truck just feels like it wants to go down the road instead of before I had to push it. Toyota tuned this thing to be a turd for best efficiency. Which sucks.

Got in some flatter area and turned off ect. Transmission still shifts great. Would down shift and up shift at the correct time. Would not try to stay in 6th gear like before.

Ironically, you'll likely see a bit better mpg, if you can resist flooring it everywhere.

Yeah I knew it was going to be a bit wonky for a bit but I like to reset the values to make sure all the previous demons are excised and I like the experience of feeling the truck learn itself and my driving habits for the first few drives.

Now I just need to let it idle overnight and I should be good to go.
