What happens if Toyota updates the ECU... to say 04B05???

Two quick questions:
1) are you still releasing a Flash Manager update for dongle owners that includes the ability to reset values?
2) are you still releasing test files for 2019 04B30/04B31 dongle owners?

What if I want to unlock more IDs?
Each ID costs 4 ID credits ($75) which then gives you permanent access to it.

 

If you get the update you will have to unlock the ID in vF, if that is what you were asking about.

I was always under the impression that the OVTune modifies or builds upon the programming and data files in the OEM tunes. If that's the case, wouldn't a change to the OEM tune (and subsequent change in ECU ID) render the existing OVTune unusable?

 

Fair enough; however, as you probably know, the "OVtuned Flash Manager" linked on your website doesn't have a dongle option/dropdown, so we (dongle users) can't use that version to grab test files of any sort. Will they somehow be added to the old "Toyota Flash Manager" version today, or will they be posted somewhere on the beta page for direct download?

@OVTune is it still looking like the 4runner will not be supported in the future or do you intend to support it only via vF? Or is this vF for the Tacoma only? Seems like there's potential for multiple platforms with it

 

Just to clarify, this will give us the ability to use your software to tune our own vehicles and possibly others if we buy the credits to unlock others' ECU's? Ala HPTuners ??? Yeah? If that's the case I would be delighted to buy this software so that I can tune my own truck as well.

 

yeah. you buy the ECU ID and then can tune as many as you want of that ECU ID

 

In time we will support every tune able Toyota and lexus

That's my interpretation of how it would work. However, I don't believe new tunes/files created using vfTuner will work with our old PCMFlash Utility (dongle) software, so it may be a moot point. Dongle ownership would only remain relevant if you want to flash older tune files. Everything else would just be the same as all other vfTuner owners across the board, and the dongle itself would get retired.

 

Tunes made in vF Tuner will only be compatible with vF Flash program

1. Can we change to have a more sensitive throttle for the 2.0 tune as an option because so many are giving feedback that it feels sluggish/lazy (aka tip-in). Without good throttle response the tune would not be optimal. Mush pedal is not good and would seriously kill the love for the tune
