    Same thing here. I saw it a few days ago and now I can’t find it again. @OVTune?

    Thanks, but that link is for 1.05 if I’m reading and recalling correctly. Brain don’t fail me now! I remember seeing a short write up regarding the set up for 2.0 in the last hundred pages or so and can’t find it any more.

    That sounds like a decent plan and I don’t mind paying the extra money to fine-tune tip-in on the 2.0 Final tune. Everyone’s idea for the perfect tip-in is different and it’s impossible for a single tune to meet everyone’s expectations. My tuning skills are rusty, but I am sure it will come back quickly. My last tune editing was on a ‘98 Grand Prix GTP. Hopefully, I don’t repeat the same mistakes since the extra horsepower sheared the input shaft in the transmission.

    Yea, It was a shot. I was curious like you and searched this thread for 'gear lock' and got more hits than I wanted to read through. I also tried searching OVTune's site but found some info. The Tundra blog actually had a little more info so I assumed it was similar implementation. (I could be wrong)

    Yeah, me too. I was checking in different locations with no luck. Plus I just don’t have the time to do a page to page search for it. Perhaps @OVTune will chime in soon.

    I remember seeing it for what I thought was the Beta. Could be wrong though.

    Not sure, but is this what you're looking for?

    "Gearlock: by ECT BUTTON (do not use if you do not understand how our gearlock implementation works!. It is by ECT button, so that means if you press in "D mode" it will not downshift!)"

    This was taken from the 2.0 beta page - https://www.ovtuned.com/pages/2-0-public.

    I don't know the specifics around it, but as far as I've been able to tell, gearlock is initiated any time you press ECT, whether you're in S or D. ECT no longer provides extra power or whatever it was claimed to do (I could never really tell a difference whenever I pushed it any way).

    I did see that, but I also saw something similar to:

    D = regular mode
    D + ETC = something

    and so on. It was more informative. I can always try different settings out, but was hoping someone here might remember it.

    You are probably thinking of how it is forecasted to work in 2.0 final:

    D=base
    D+ECT=performance

    S=gearlock
    S+ECT=Tow mode (Atkinson cancel)

    But how does it work in 2.0 beta 04B04? That’s the question.

    Really good! Smoother shifting, holds 5th much longer up hills before going into 4th. Plus, no more hard “I’m that asshole” shift into 4th from 5th. The truck’s always had that problem prior to this beta tune.

    04A61, 2.0 beta 19800 build:
    ECT off=normal operation in D or S
    ECT on=gearlock in D or S

    When ECT is on the transmission will upshift normally but will not downshift on command. You can unlock the TC for a small increase in rpm but it won’t downshift. It does, however, return to 1st gear when the rpm gets low enough. I would only use the current gearlock in S mode to assist with towing. In S mode you have manual control over which gear you are in.

    If you do turn ECT on while in D just be prepared to turn in off when you want the trans to downshift normally or when you want to command a downshift. I’ve found that the @MESO stealth shifter mod is great for this purpose. No fumbling for the dash switch, just on,off with the right hand thumb.

    Back to normal ECT use with 2.0 final!

    Probably a dumb question but what does this mean for those that have not purchased OVTunes yet? I was saving up for it then all this happened. Will there be instructions/tutorials like on your website to walk through new users? Because a lot of the stuff people are talking about when referring to your product is out of my expertise.

    I believe the 2.0 MT final has gearlock incorporated so we'll have to wait and see what 2.0 final for the AT has
