What you are going to find are that local tuning shops are going to start to offer tunes for these 3rd gens using this software. You aren’t going to have to do it yourself.

any feedback from those (any AT ECU) who got an early release, or recent release, of 2.0 final for testing? Seems pretty quiet here. ?? Seems like the 2.0 final train left the station never to be heard from again. Wondering if there were some significant flaws in the releases that are causing additional delays.

I’m curious how the new 2.0 ECT will perform compared to actual ECT? Actual ECT was pretty good by itself for towing, better throttle sensitivity, and wanting the longer shift holds

It's called Covid-19, and it taking a lower priority.

I am testing the new release of 2.0 for the 2019s with 5.29s. There are zero “significant flaws”.

The only issues that i have run into are:

    1. Shifting “hiccup” in the 2-3 shift at WOT.
    2. Speed limiter with 5.29s is not fully removed. I’m not sure why but it still limits the truck intermittently.

Good to know - I'm on 4.88's and rarely get to WOT so likely I would never experience these issues. How many miles on the current tune and what octane?

After two trips towing around ~ 1600lbs with the new 2.0 beta on 2019 ECU 5.29 tune, I am very impressed. Towed up to 7000 ft elevation and back down to sea level in the CA Sierra's. Truck has a nice linear shift pattern. Holds gears nicely, great acceleration and performance. Still getting used to the Throttle Tip in but getting more and more used to it and I really do like it. After more uses with Adaptive CC, it seems to be working smarter and seems to have much smarter shifting. Really happy with this tune so far and no complaints. Can't wait to try out ECT + S mode tow mode since I haul/Tow fairly often.

went out last night for a drive, with the new 2.0 beta (premium fuel) for the 2019's (running 90+ octane non eth fuel). mixed usage of country roads, 45-60 mph, city driving, 25-45mph, and a few short highway sections, 70-80mph. the truck is still in learning mode, as i reset the LV, and AT values, for the flash. i am noticing the lag in the pedal down low from a stop, a bit. not terrible, not annoying, i just know it is there, and not telepathic down low. it is like a slight lag in the TPS, to pedal interface.

3rd-4th gear quick shift is GONE (THANK YOU MAT), holds 5-6th longer and seems to just unlock the torque converter v.s grabbing a gear on most hills (other than Smode, I wish there was an auto way to lock out 5-6th below 50 mph, then once above 50 the trans would be allowed to shift up a gear to fifth. and after 60-65, the truck would be allowed into 6th).

the big punch from 3500 rpms up is GONE, it is smooth, linear, and very nice. rolling full throttle blasts are nice, no rev limter, cut out, or shift delay, so far. i did watch the rpms and it seems it is set to shift at at full throttle around 6000 rpm, gear to gear. i thought the shift rpms would be closer to 7000 with the updates but, i could be wrong, and the truck could still be learning.

all in all, i am very happy with the new tune, I havent had any warnings, overrides etc... but, again i only went out for about 65 miles or so, and the lv and at values are learning me, as much as i am learning to drive it, with the new tune. i will keep updating the thread as i drive the truck more.

thank you Mat, wishing you and your family, crew, health and well being in these uncertain times. thank you for keeping on with the development of this tune, and the quirks in the 19-20 M.Y. trucks. it is APPRECIATED! Ski

very excited for vF, so if I'm reading this correctly we who have purchased the Flash kit can request say 2.0 final 04b31 5.29 gear 33" tune to be converted to vF and then we can fine tune from their to make it how we want? if so I think this will be very awesome!

His post was all over the place dude. At one point somewhere in there, I was trying to figure out if he was mad that he'd been saving money to buy the tune and frustrated that the price had dropped lower than he'd originally anticipated (?), even though apparently it doesnt matter since he doesn't have the money to buy anyway? Idk

Sold out. I was just annoyed that there WAS a good tune. And now it was misunderstood what is actually going on with the tune. Ovtunes post had a lot of FAQ’s but i am unfamiliar at what is actually going on. So maybe you guys can enlighten me on what the outcome of it is? Is there still a tune For sale with customer service Of the OV tune. Sorry if my rant confused you all.

I haven't followed along too closely lately because I've been busy with work but it sounds like future tunes will only be available via vF Tuner. This means that future buyers of the tune will no longer be getting fully buttoned up tunes like 2.0 SFOB Prem or Base Reg, etc. Instead, they'll get a base template map or two or four, however many, that they can can then tinker with and put in desired features, etc, to then flash

Anyone, please feel free to correct me on anything I may have misunderstood

Search for vF in this thread. It’s been explained over the last several pages by OVTune.

    Hey Brew,

I flashed the 04B04 2.0 beta in the 91 octane 4.88 version a few days ago. Today I drove 65 miles up and down a mountain highway today to get wood. The tune drove very nice and I got a combined 18.5mph. The final should be cherry. Truck drives and holds gears so nicely with 4.88’s even with 1,600lbs of wood give it take. 255/75/17’s

19800 or ? I'm still running 0944 87 performance. Gas is cheaper but I'd like to stick to 87. I ran 19800 for a while but thought it was mushy compared to 0944. LMK. Thanks. Looking forward to 2.0 final like many others. How do you like those pizza cutters? I may consider same when it comes time for new shoes.

It is a tad bit less responsive, but it definitely drives better. Yes the 19800 file. I did not rest LV
