Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Intrested in doing my own tunes and the idea that there’s preexisting tunes for me to use make the leap easier

I will definitely take you up on that offer once it is released. Also getting the equivalent 2.0 file for vf is perfect for me. There really won't be a need for the dongle or reg key anymore anyway IMHO. Awesome deal!

Will the 2.0 vf tune we get be modify-able?

New for the sake of new, no. New and improved, always.

 

Anyone with a 2019 and running the newest 2.0 beta notice the throttle does not seem to be linear, rather than a on/off position.

For me, when slow rolling and depress the gas pedal and very slightly start pressing the gas pedal again, I can feel the exact position when it starts accelerating again. Kind of like a bump in.

 

It happens on the MT too. It is either VVTi or AICS.

 

I’ll return the handheld I still have for the same deal. You never sent me a return label, or any other info to send it back after I got my flash kit exchange.

@OVTune I'm sure the vF Tuner software will be a move forward of all of the population wanting to tweek issues not to their liking. With that said - I'd like 2.0 final for 04b04 4.88's OLE (or 87 octane) to determine what if any tweeks would be an improvement before jumping on the vF Tuner software ship. Oh, and if possible - it would be nice to have all this while the vF Tuner software price for us cable owner's is still on sale for the 60% off price.

But.. ... you have had the tune for a while hence the "OG" status and the new vf tool is not comparable to most of the 2.0 flavors hence the basic nature of the maps provided in vf (at least the way I see (read) it). Imagine not being an OG.

 

Mines the same. Say the pedal is 0-100% where 0% is idle and 100% is wide open. Figuratively speaking 1-7% is basically 1-1.8% throttle. Then there’s a point where it grabs at say 7% but if you continue to press the pedal to say 10% you’re in the spot where 0-7% should be and anything past the 10% mark is quite sensitive and just skips quickly to 15-20% throttle.

I know it sounds crazy as it is hard to describe but definitely takes quite a while to get used to. I’ve driven nearly 600 miles since flashing the tune and I’m still either creeping along extremely slow at first or nearly spinning the tires. Hopefully it’s slightly different on final release but if not I’ll eventually get used to it. The fixes that our 2019’s have been waiting for are definitely not an issue any longer with the most recent beta.

I definitely 100% know exactly what you’re talking about and it was the very first thing I noticed about the tune. I feel like the 2.0 beta I had Loaded before this was more predictable from a stop That was the 4.88 91 octane 04b31.

I have gotten used to the surge in power for the most part but haven’t been able to make it consistently disappear with Fine pedal control yet. It’s great if you’re really trying to accelerate hard. But if your trying to drive fuel efficiently and ease into a start it’s very difficult to make happen without a sudden surge.

Sounds great! Can I assume that includes a copy of the 2.0 Final tune for our specific ECUs, as well? I'm still a little confused as to which files are shipping with every copy of vfTuner...

Also, do you still plan to release the 2019 04B30 dongle files for testing, or did that plan get scrapped this week? I just need to know whether or not to keep checking back for those files... please?
