@OVTune Mat, ignore this shit, and donyour thing. There are plenty of grateful people that have been with you since the beginning. Some that are new, yet also grateful. And, there are a few that don't get it, that are putting the rest of us patient, and appreciative people at risk of loosing a chance to get the last piece of the puzzle that has been your life for the last couple years. Do what you gotta do. Maybe the rest of us grateful individuals can help keep these cry babies at bay. Stay focused. And, thank you very much for all the work you do. Keep at it, Brother. We're excited. But, we'll patiently wait like the grown-ups we were raised up to be. Thank you again, Sir!

This is pretty much the case.

My customer service isn't the best. Mediocre at times. It has been the biggest challenge for me.

I just want everyone to know, confused or not, everything that I have been trying to accomplish has just been to make people enjoy their trucks and my products. Relying on other companies that don't really care, has make this process that much harder. I'm not switching software on a whim, or stopping flash kits just for no reason. I'd have to rely on previous developers who just simply didn't give two shits what I was working on, or companies that get back to me....when they want... even though you guys are waiting on the other side of that line. It can make me look bad. Sometimes I make myself look bad.

This whole situation going on right now pushed me into this switch.
The big drop in sales wasn't just the trigger. I can go a month without sales, two months. 5 months. I'll be ok.
But with everything going on in the world, with millions expecting to lose work, and a time where there is a limbo (of nobody buying)..what can I do. A $699 tune kit isn't very enticing when there is backlogs on getting the hardware extended periods of time, or when you don't know if you'll have a job next week. (and I understand this situation. People are already messaging me that they are losing their trucks from this stuff going on right now..and we aren't even at the peak yet).
What better way can we continue to support our current customers without shafting them, and try to continue to support the Tacoma in the future?
Changing to our new software that opens the realm up for everyone. It's going to be a bit confusing. It will probably make some people mad. I will lose some potential customers.

I'm not just a salesman. I don't want to get you in, buy something and get you out the door. I care a lot about my work, and it does disappoint me when people aren't happy, because I can do better.
I just wish this ECUs code wasn't so hard. Not that I don't share any of the blame. Sometimes I end up down my own rabbit holes, exploring tuning options or code in this truck that probably isn't necessary in the long run.

All I ask is for anyone, if you have questions just ask, but please if you don't fully comprehend what I say, ask again. Don't twist my words. I'm not here to screw anyone out of anything.

@OVTune , I've watched since day one. You have put a lot of time into these tunes and done more than most would've ever put up with. Be proud of what you've accomplished when nobody else could. I bet in many ways you're glad it's almost over. :hattip:

Man alive this thread took a major twist! Haven’t been checking as often lately and seems like someone really pissed off the owner.

@OVTune sorry I don’t personally know you. You truly seem like an intelligent person and have developed something that has possibly done well for you as a business man as well as offered your consumers a very easy to use product. Never, EVER, in my life have I ever seen a business man resort to cussing on an online forum towards its customers. We all get frustrated there’s no doubt and you’re in a spot where it’s every day night and day frustration I’d imagine. But to tell people on an online community, a very very large one at that, one day that they’re the best community ever then turn back around bashing them for whatever you have to deal with as a business man behind the scenes and here in the open is absurd.

People have complaints, questions, curiosities albeit some are a complete waste of time and extremely pointless. Welcome to sales! Don’t take that out on any customer because that comes with the territory, accept it and deal with it.

Speaking for myself and myself only, the recent announcement has me worried about what I’ve purchased also but I’m patient and typically feel I don’t ask stupid questions yet you’ve never responded to me once other than during purchase and a random quote of my post here and there on this page. Yet I don’t jump on you. I just keep reading and hopefully find the answer myself or eventually figure it out.

There are tons of good people who aren’t as savvy and knowledgeable with your product and they take patience and repetition and, god help them for this, they WASTE some of your time.

I’ve literally read every single post you made on this entire thread. I took the time over the course of several days when I purchased the product to read EVERY post of yours word for word. I’ve read every blog post and every bit of information relating to your product on your website as well as your blog. The last time you acted this way was during a time where there were a lot of chargebacks and you had the exact same attitude and also came back saying this is the best community of all. Same song and dance happening all over.

I’m sorry you are going through something that is more than you can deal with at this time. It’s not any of our business if you have something going on in life personally, financially, spiritually, whatever. You’re a man with a very substantially profitable business that decided to refine a developed product due to community response and now you use that as a positive thing most days but when you’re mad you throw it up and use it in a way to make it sound like it’s the fault of the community.

No you’ll never please everyone. However you’ve developed a highly desirable product for last couple years and now you’re done. Granted I know you’ve explained yourself numerous times that you’ll still be around but people purchased the product you developed and one user got slammed because he mentioned you’ve never released a final tune. For a 2019 owner, that is the truth. Not saying the guy that made the comment is a 2019 owner but no 2019 owner has received a final working tune. Am I frustrated? Absolutely not as you keep saying you’re working on it and I’m very patient.

What happens when you release 2.0 final and then major issues arise yet you’ve decided you’re done? There are so many things running through my mind I’d like to ask/say but highly doubt this post will accomplish anything anyway but felt I should take the time to chime in on some things. I don’t think it’s good for business ever to act on the same lower level as the people you’re complaining about that has lead you to such undesirable times in business. Hope the best for you as I’ll have no hard feelings either way but this recent out-lash has gone behind customer service being poor.

Edit - yes 2019 have received a working tune but not with the final stamp I should say. The recent beta seems great and I personally am satisfied just, as you’ve let us see your frustrations on this before also, but I’m one of the ones who don’t like the new throttle adjustments either. If you were ever given the chance to drive our 2019 trucks you’d see why also. I even took the time to explain it and got no response from you yet many others agreed with how I explained it. It’s so weird that I can’t even turn into my driveway and go up the gravel drive without spinning tires. My driveway is just steep enough that as I turn into the drive the truck shifts to 1st gear and no matter how I try to feather the throttle it eventually gets pressed far enough down that my truck lunges and spins the tires as there’s such a dead space in the throttle at takeoff that I can’t go up the drive unless I press the gas more and more but it just sits there until I hit the spot where it lunges. Ah well though never please everyone. I’ve just told my kids if they see me pulling into driveway at home make dang sure to not come up anywhere near me or behind me til I’m parked!

I’d hire an answering service or create a local job for someone in need of work to screen emails and phone calls. Legitimate correspondence makes it to Mat. Stupid questions or those already answered get a canned response.

As someone who is new to this OV tuning world, this sentence has me at a loss. I'm also a patient person, but when Matt says handhelds will ship out by end of this month, then I read this sentence, I have no idea what I should do with my $600 order.

Will the handheld still be relevant and usable with the vF tuning software (if Matt does still have some handhelds in stock and I do receive it once he has time to get some manually configured)?

Apologies if this has been asked... I've tried to keep up with the thread as best as I can.

Is the 2.0 being held up because it's coming from a 3rd party? Just curious.

I personally don't have an answer for you on this other than, if you haven't already, send OVTune a zendesk email to discuss your options: support@ovtune.zendesk.com. If you have emailed OVTune already, then you can ping them again by replying to the zendesk support ticket email you should have received. By the way, my post sentence pertaining to handhelds was by no means "official". It was more of an observation of the delays caused by the handheld software company and, obviously, COVID19. GL!

Since my handheld order 2 months ago, I've sent a couple of emails regarding the status of my shipment, to be told that it would be shipping very soon or even "that week". I believe my last email (a week ago) has gone unanswered.

I still don't have a clear answer as to whether this handheld will just be an expensive paper weight as soon as the vF software comes out.
