Hi all and @OVTune, If Mat and most of you may be assuming I have been and am a troll . I am not . I realize some of my posts may have seemed that way but I have never thought that the OVtune or Mat have been anything other than a great help for the 3rd gen Tacoma especially in the beginning before the 04B04 update from Toyota .
I have had questions with some of the posts Mat has posted with them being vague or cryptic , whether he meant them to be or not going back from the beginning . After his posts I have sometimes had questions as to what the actual meaning of them was . I do not think I am alone . I get it things have changed over the last few years and just was trying to point out how Mats posts at times create confusion even though I believe to know what he meant but was not certain , I have read every post from this thread from the start . Some of these things have and others have never come to being because things change . I also get that the future is never certain and there is an increasingly amount of evidence of 3rd party problems are reasons for the changes in what comes next from Mat's last posts ( pretty much thought this for a long time ) .
Mat , you are undoubtably a very smart guy , and maybe some of your post responces are little to quick on emotion , as have been mine and others . We are all human . I believe the final 2.0 will be as good as this engine/AT trans can expect . I look forward to it , whenever it is ready .
Even if the final 2.0 is perfect for me and my 2016 04B04 , I will buy the VFtune just because .
Sorry to all I may have pissed of !

To be honest, I feel like 1.05 shifts a little too early from 3-4 and usually will downshift again to 3rd gear. Not really an issue, but more of an annoyance. I have learned to use throttle so it doesn't happen as much or at all. The truck drives great, and has plenty of get up and go. I'm on 33's and the highway driving is another story.. Luckily I don't spend much time on the highway. I will re-gear in the future, and will flash to that specific tune as well..
How is the throttle response with the Performance tune? I don't want it to feel jerky or too sensitive.. I guess I could flash it and see..

Welp, looks like Elvis has left the room as well as the 2.0 Hope's. It was fun.

I think the problem here is, Mat spent too much time on the forums and trying to accommodate for everyone.

he should just do what big tuning companies do; here’s your tune, this is what it’ll be, and enjoy it.

There are a lot of smart people on here and I need assistance. All trouble shooting recommendations are welcome. Hope everyone is doing well and holding up ok.

    Truck: 2017 AT TRD 4X4 3.5L

    Current Tune: 1.05 91 Performance

    ECU: 4B04

    Flash Manager Conf 1.3.0

Computer: Exclusively used for tuning truck All updates complete, windows defender disabled. Same computer was used to successfully flash the truck to current tune.

THE PROBLEM: Flash Manager fails to ID the truck. All keys remain gray. Data Logger does ID Veh and provide live data.

Trouble shooting steps conducted: Computer updates, confirmation of security sittings, (Flash manager steps): reloaded flash manager, purged veh data, reload drivers. Followed step by step trouble shooting steps provided in resource section of OVTune.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Every once in a while Windows Updates will "remove" the OVTune Registry Key. Happened to me once, all of a sudden may buttons were grayed out. You may have to send a message to @OVTune ZenDesk (support@ovtune.zendesk.com) and request a new Registry Key. Just explain the situation and provide them with your System ID if you can get it.

This happened to me once, actually 2 days after I received my original reg key.

I was still able to identify my vehicle and the values were different.
Since that change my unique ID has remained the same.
