Mat has said 2.0 final is complete for 2016, 2017,2018' he's fine tuning some issue's with 2019 and 2020's and will release when that is complete! He is not making anymore changes. No need to keep asking for changes to the 2.0 final ! He has stated with vF tuning anyone can change the tip in anyway they want to! Go back and read only Mats post's.

That's easy for someone to say forget about tip in when they are not dealing with the issue.

Believe me, I got my hands full downloading the tune let alone having to learn how to re-tune the tune....

I for one don't want to go through the hassle of trying to learn how to tune unless we are talking about stupid easy click options.

    18 days later...:notsure:

The good news is that, given all the descriptions of a mushy, laggy, and lurchy tip-in, as well as Mat's refusal to even acknowledge the many offers to help with testing, I no longer care if the dongle test versions ever get released. #brightside #tossinginthetowel

Have you read any of Mats post? vF will be broken down so it is very simple to use. Mat will have video instructions along with written instructions! Also once it is released there will be many guys on here that can assist in helping anyone out! This thread has been great to get help on just about anything. Yes i have dealt with many issue's with tune issue's going back 1.02 so you are not alone with issue's and they will be worked out!

I rarely defend the guy but these types of posts would drive me nuts as a working business man. I don’t condone his actions but can definitely see what is part of the problem.

I saw on the Orangevirus Tuning Facebook that he's offering webinars to help people learn the new software. He'll have a Tacoma-specific one once vF is available for Tacos.

You obviously don’t have any experience with the tip in on the new tune on a 2019 so why even comment.

At this point it is not completely clear to me that we can take the tune of our choice and then modify or build upon it using vFtune. In only one post (that I can find) Mat "sort of" indicated that that would be possible, by specially requesting the desired tune from him, to be converted to vFtune format. But every other post from Mat seems to refer to using some "sample" tunes as the starting place for developing your vFtune.

Not sure how its confusing. He has flat out said if you have the tune you can request the tune in VF format to tweak it yourself in one of his posts. People who purchase VFTune only will not have that as an option.

The statement is straightforward. But everywhere else, Mat talks about starting from one of the "sample" tunes. Many many many things that have been talked about in this thread have never come to reality.

The lurch is the result of how manufacturers program the throttle controllers, including my Harley. It's caused by smoothing or averaging the drivers throttle input spikes. By smoothing out the drivers spikes, the automaker increases the EPA mileage. The smoothing routine is active all the time, but we mainly feel it in the lurch when we take-off because smoothing out the spike also causes a slight delay in engine response. Also a real pain for adding throttle through a curve on a motorcycle. Since we are used to instant throttle response in older cars, we keep adding throttle until we feel a response. However, by the time we feel it in a newer car, we added way too much throttle, and thus the evil lurch. The way around the lurch is to relearn how to add throttle slower to give the controller time to catch up (important for riding the Harley through a curve), or tune the smoothing routine out of the program, which is what most turners do.

Most drivers and Harley riders who don't feel the lurch tend to drive very conservatively (painfully slow). Probably like to drive slow in the left lane too.
