I read this post and just out of corona boredom went back thru all of Mats post's and could not find anything derogatory toward us dongle users. I know we are a pain in his ass but I like my dongle. His offer of free Vf support for us turning in our dongles is outstanding.

Thank you for the insight Mat. Took my truck in a few weeks ago. No mention of fuel pump recall...

Friday came early this week. Must be too much Easter sugar that can't be burned off with this Stay at Home / Social Distance stuff making us extra testy.

And you say that this is the BEST of the various forums/platforms on which you’ve worked? Gosh, your life can’t be easy.

You’ve made your decisions about how OVTuning will proceed with the Tacoma. Most people here are happy with that direction. For your sanity, I encourage you to ignore the BS and just get on with things.

What? I’m a dongle user and I’m not seeing what you have. He has offered a free trade in for us. That’s pretty darn nice IMO. I think he has been stellar considering this circus of a thread

Not sure if this can still be used, I have a flash kit that I don't need anymore. Make me an offer if interested.

Am I the only one that finds it funny that people are mad because “derogatory comments about dongle users”? Man, if I had came into this thread late and uninformed I’d be losing it...

Point to the part of the dongle where it hurts.:crapstorm:

    I’ll show myself out, thanks.

Derogatory may be the wrong word for it. "Disparaging" is probably more accurate. I know I'm not the only one who now feels that way, as I'm getting PM's with supportive messages from other dongle users who interpreted everything Mat has said/done the exact same way I did. We've apparently made things extra difficult for him by refusing to switch to p5f... or something.

Even if all of that is some sort of misunderstanding, I really don't give a rat's ass anymore. I'll wait for 2.0, swap my dongle by snail mail for a copy of vF, and be done with this whole mess.

If you swap for the vF tune, wouldn’t you technically just be starting, since it’s a new tuning tool not a tune, rather than being done? Don’t mean to pick, but this doesn’t make sense.

Mat has offered to swap dongles for a vF license. We apparently get to keep a 2.0 license in p5f format AND gain the ability to modify 2.0 in vF... at least, I think that's the deal?

    Anyways...

I will not be messing with any of the generic sample tunes, tables, or other nonsense. I just need to make sure the tip-in is similar to 1.05 93-octane performance or 2.0beta build 19800. For that reason, I personally plan to take him up on his offer, modify my copy of 2.0 (if necessary), and be done.

I have a 19 dclb. When I bought it about a year ago and installed OV about month later. It runs pretty good on 19800 87 with 90-oct for my driving style and use. No complaints. I'll buy the VF when it and 2.0 final is released. Got the recall notice in the mail about two weeks ago. Just wanted to say thank you!

    2.0 beta 5.29 tune for the 2019. A+ @OVTune

Needs the tune big footed over the adaptive cruise.

    ..Derogatory.... Disparaging..?

This is ridiculous. I do have to do literally double the amount of work for about 100 people. And you guys are all PMing eachother encouraging this idea that I have been derogatory or disparaging towards you guys because of this?

I could have just said, from day 1, that if you have a dongle, you must switch software to receive updates. But I didn't do that.

But since you dongle owners, who have historically been reluctant to update, want to go and say stuff like this. Switching is now mandatory.
I'm not publishing another dongle based file from this point.

And guess what, that's not derogatory OR disparaging. That's standard operating procedure in the software world.
