Ask Microsoft for new critical security updates for Windows XP and see what they say. This is the nature of software, at some point, it becomes obsolete and unsupported. Different software has different lifespans. Expecting to always get the latest and greatest updates for software at the end of life or just beyond is not realistic. You’ve been offered a solution at little to no cost to you (shipping?), I’d take it.

With Microsoft you know what you’re walking into, they stipulate these things and you are aware that their releases are mostly based around critical security updates.
In this case, Mat is forcing customers hand before the release of the final iteration of the tune, but it’s not security related and thus makes you think why.
I want to be able to keep my dongle, I don’t care for vf software. I want to get the final and be done with this entire fiasco.
In hindsight, I should have never bought into this as a early adopter

 

You don’t have to have vF but sounds like the offer is you get the p5f flash software AND vF. The gift to early adopters is you get BOTH! I have no idea why people are bitching and not mailing their dongle updating software and moving on. There are people on this thread that have nearly every tune in p5f and will send them to you if you think you’ll lose old tunes you might want.

Is there any possibility that we could start a separate thread for all the dongle crying? I come on here nearly every day, and see multiple new pages on the thread and think "This must be the day! Mat has released 2.0 and everybody is talking about it!" Then I open the thread and find out it is 3-5 pages of grown men sitting around whining about losing their dongles. It would save Mat and everybody else a lot of headache if we could put all those discussions somewhere other than in the middle of this thread.

There is no 2nd amendment for dongles. You guys act like you’re giving up your first born! Mat has been super cool about his offer. Take it up, or walk away
