Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Okay, I am way behind. I've been trying to work whatever I can due to my wife being laid off due to this virus. I spent my lunch trying to catch up on this, but still am not sure. I'm seeing some posts about trading in the dongle, which I own, is it better to trade in or hang on to it? I see Mat is going to post some more info this weekend, just like I said, trying to catch up. Thanks all & stay safe

 

Webinars will be available only for folks who purchase (via live date or available recording). Mainly because some of the topics talked about are the understanding of some of toyotas more complex logic for table functions. We do have competitors in this realm and I don't want to just throw out freebie information to the world.

I will probably release the "basics" webinars out but the more complex stuff is provided only to users.

 

My purple dongle has been delivered to OVTune.

Follow the instructions on the attached post - send dongle only - keep obd connector and micro usb and case. contact Mat.

 

After coming to terms with saying goodbye to the dongle, I’m pretty excited. And this should make things SO much easier for Mat. Doing the Lords work. Haha

 

So what’s the TL;DR for someone whose never had the OVTune and now wants to purchase it?

 

Wait until vF is available for non-kit owners and then buy it.

 

Not sure if this has been asked. But will VF give us the ability to change tire sizes? For shift point purposes or speedo purposes?

What's your input if we are already using a hypertech? Uninstall and account for bigger tires with the tune?

 

The tune and hypertech won't talk to or interfere with each other at this time (unless there is something in 2.0 that Mat hasn't told us about yet). The tire size/gearing involved in the tune is relevant to shift points.

 

Stoked I picked up a used tuner here, just waiting for the license and the vF.... gonna have the best of both worlds

 

Tire size, shift points and gearing (4.88, 5.29) - see Mat's post #60624 near the very top of previous page

 

That is the instruction for dongle users to go dongle less flashkit.
